The ethanol fuel killed the gas tank and everything in it. I spent a lot of research finding the correct tank and this fixture to hold the fuel pump. This part was about 1/4 inch too long and I bent it to provide some clearance to the bottom of the new tank. The length may not be an issue with a stock tank, but thankfully I made it fit. The bolt holes aligned perfectly and I reused the original bolts to mount it as they were much higher quality then the ones that came with this fixture; I also replaced the ground screws with stainless ones. The replacement pump mounting required some modification because the bottom tangs on this unit aren't the same as the stock unit. To make sure the pump stayed in place, I use zip ties. The blades inside the connector are too thin to make reliable contact; see the pictures for details. I spliced the original connector onto the new unit.
