I had the original housing, but I saw that the ending portion was too short to enter the ignition. It could have been a defect or messed up production but part didn’t fit. It was easy to put into the ignition but after everything was assembled it just didn’t want to go in. I’ll give the benefit of the doubt you should just buy the entire assembly. It did feel like OEM so it should be very durable.

One day after work I turns the key in my Dodge and something snapped inside. Turns out the factory part is some cheap pot metal. Took me about 30 minutes to fix while watching YouTube videos. Pretty easy. Back on the road and it was super cheap. One thing I noticed is the little spring was missing. I was able to take it from the old part. No big deal, but you have to pay attention.
