Ballend hangs out too far, leaving about 1/16 of an inch of actual contact when shifted into park. As ball (plastic) wears from continuous shifting it shall eventually lose full contact leading to failure (Inability to shift gears).

This is my second purchase in 2 or 3 years, it is NOT a defective product. Searching on You Tube for electrical shorts, this is the culprit. Easy and quick to install. Well worth the price if you want to rid a short.

Thank you Amazon for having this part. I looked everywhere for it . Would of had to jump thru hoops to get part from other sources, I installed part problems gone. Take a few minutes to YouTube installation process. Especially with the lockout cable. I left old q hooked up and made my installation simple. Saved $$$$ big on diy . Part fit perfectly.

Installation was simple, however not all covers have screws and snap together... Be gentle, take your time and don't force anything. Shifter works perfectly couldn't be happier
