Product Description

Extend the life of your beloved houseplants with the SUSTEE Aquameter soil moisture meter for indoor and outdoor plants. SUSTEE is designed and made in Japan and is the perfect addition to various houseplants. It has a slim, minimalist aesthetic that doesn't take away from the beauty of the plants, harmoniously blending in when left in the soil. It works with almost any plant that grows in the soil. When using the moisture testing stick, the white color indicates that the plant needs watering, and the blue color indicates that it has enough water. The core insert that determines if watering is needed can also be manually replaced. This leave in soil moisture meter is maintenance-free. A perfect plant watering indicator for potted plants. It is recommended to replace the refillable core of your SUSTEE after 6-9 months of use. SUSTEE has won multiple international awards including the Reddot Design Award, Germany Design for Asia Award, and the Japan Good Designs Award. The large size is meant for pot sizes 6 - 12. Two sticks are included. Color: green.

Meet SUSTEE

SUSTEE is a modern, Japanese soil moisture sensor. The blue color indicates that there is enough water in the soil, and the while color indicate that plant is in need of watering. SUSTEE features a minimal aesthetic that doesn't take away from the beauty of your plants.

SUSTEE

Sustee 01

Color

Has your SUSTEE turned white? That means it is time to water! After watering, the white insert will change to a blue color. This indicates that there is enough water in the soil.

Sustee 02

Soil

SUSTEE can be used with almost all plants that grow in soils with a certain level of moisture retention. This includes akadama soil, black earth, bark, coco peat, peat moss and vermiculite.

Sustee 03

Insertion Depth

When inserting SUSTEE, please ensure that the Ω mark found on the stick is entirely covered. Please also make sure that the transpiration opening is visible if the stick is needing to go deeper.

Sustee 04

Time

The time it takes to change color will depend on the amount of water given and the water retention level. When using SUSTEE for the first time, please water generously. The small stick takes approximately 3 minutes, the medium 15 minutes, and the large 25 minutes.

First, I was not happy that I received opened and used item(both sticks were in used condition with soil). I requested to exchange, then I received new one. But it didnt work at all. I tested them with the wet soil and waited for 10min, but white parts didn’t turn to blue at all as advertised. No wonder people return them….

These work for plants which like to be kept consistently moist, but not for plants that need to get a bit drier before watering. They definitely work - after watering they are blue and then they turn white as soon as the top couple of inches dry out but for some plants (ZZ plant, snake plant etc...) you need to let them get a lot drier than that. That said, I do like them for my plants that need to stay moist so will use them for those.

These Aqua Meters are great! They not only work but are saving plants lives. Now I know if I am watering too much or not enough. Wish they were more reasonable price so that I could afford to have one for each of my plants. Also wish they made them longer for my bigger plants.

I got a defective one, and it almost killed my large, previously thriving money tree. For such a pricey product, I expect it work correctly*!One of these worked perfectly (in a similarly sized tree)....The other told me that my money tree still had plenty of water (bright blue) for 6+weeks after I inserted it. I started doubting it as a number of leaves started yellowing and dropping. 😒 I took the meter out and inspected it. There was a sort of crusty-looking yellow/brown substance on the reader/insert, not lined up to be able to see it without removing it.Curious, I left the closed unit on my kitchen island, with great air circulation and more sunlight than the tree actually gets, to see how long it would take to dry out. I ran the same experiment with one of my medium sized units (which I've never had a problem with). The medium unit dried out fairly rapidly. The large one from my money tree stayed bright blue for over four and a half days before budging at all. At that point, I shook it out, whacked it on the edge of the sink, and it finally started fading sometime after.I definitely wish I'd listened to my instincts about it being a defective unit before I let so many leaves drop. A few days after filling her back up (without the meter), she's perking.*I have purchased two of the medium sets -- I have them in 14 other plants and have gifted some to friends -- and I've never had a problem with any of them until now.

My peace lily Fernando has never had more blooms than he has since I started using this. It works really well and is simple to use, as well as being discreet and more attractive than most other soil moisture meters. It does take a few minutes for the sensor to turn from white to blue once watered, so be patient to avoid overwatering.

We have never been able to keep a indoor plant alive before these Aquameters. We bought three plants and these sticks and I’m happy to say that all three plants are still alive and thriving! They’re very easy to use blue the plant has enough water, white it needs water - so easy.I’ve already bought them for my aunt and mom.

I live in South Florida and grow all of my backyard fruit trees in 65-150 gal Smart Pots (Persian Lime, Emperor Lychee, Sweetheart Lychee, Blue Musa Java Banana, Bacon Avocado, Haas Avocado, Glen Mango, Kent Mango, Nam Doc Mai mango, Fairchild Mango). I use a soaker hose irrigation system. Its important to determine when to water the trees based on moisture at the root levels, and historically I would use a moisture probe and check them one by one. I was about to order a couple more moisture probes (they stop working after a while) and saw the Sustee Aquameter. I ordered a 2 pack as a test and loved them so much that I ordered one for each tree. Now I can see from the center of my back yard at a glance which trees need water and which trees don't. The indicator is either blue (wet) or white (dry). Nothing in between.

This monitor saved my favorite plant. It is reliable (I have been using it for over a month now) and wonderfully easy to use. When I first got it, I couldn't belive it would work, because it took quite a while to turn blue the first time. But it got into a rhythm with the plant within two days, and now my dying plant is flourishing! I love it.
