I, like many women, have struggled for years to find quality outdoor work pants. Men's pants never fit right, and women's pants are usually more concerned with looking stylish than actually being functional (I'm looking at you, useless front pockets!). I applaud Arborwear for taking a chance and making some clothing for women. Women who, I'm sure, are not their primary clientele. That being said, there is some room for improvement. The sizing was different than I'm used to, but I think I've got it figured out. For reference, I am 5'5", 140 lbs, athletically built, with a larger waist than most women my weight, and a larger bum. Size 6 fit okay. It was a bit snug in the waist and hips/ bum, and loose through the legs. Haven't washed them yet though, they may shrink. I could probably go up to an 8 and they'd just fit a bit baggier. I ordered a 32L, but I am returning for a 30 instead. The 32s were definitely way too long. They're relatively comfortable, but the rise is awkward. It sits below the belly button by about two inches. I'd really like to see some higher rise pants so I feel more secure/ less self conscious about bending/ reaching. The price of these pants, $95 at the time of purchase, is ludicrous. Unfortunately, brands like Carhartt, which are half the price, have major quality control issues that prevent me from purchasing their products. I really wish other "rugged" brands would step up to the plate and make well fitting, high quality outdoor clothing for women that was just as functional as the men's clothing.
