For the money I was surprised at the quality of this jig.

This works better than I thought it would. It does straight or right in the right place. Easy to use, and holds it all together.

I have refletched several dozen arrows now and have no complaints. Works as well as more expensive ones that I have used. Easy cleaning after use. Seems durable and should last for a while. Only change I would suggest is more visible marks. I also used a black marker to mark when I am back to the cocking feather position.

I used this jig to re-fletch my old Gold Tip 400 carbon fiber arrows. The old fletching was very minimal, straight, and beginning to show their age. I wanted to replace it all, but didn't trust my minimal skill. So, I bought this little gizmo. Here's my experience with it...Likes:Stability- It's stable enough even without fastening it down to use it without worry of it falling over.Options- It comes with the option to do two, three, or four fletches with minimal effort. All parts and tools are included.Options 2- It comes with straight and spiral jig clamps. I know how straight works, so I tried the spiral clamp. More on this in a bit...Cost- There's "cheap" and there's "inexpensive". This jig falls somewhere between the two. More on this in a bit too....Adjustability- This setup has the ability to easily adjust for different size arrows, fletching, and placement on the end of the arrow. I chose to set my new fletching starting where the old ones did, but in the photo you can see how far they extend forward. This clamp handled it just fine.... mostly.Don't (didn't) like:I haven't used the straight jig clamp, only the spiral one, and I had an awful time getting the fletch to sit properly. I spent a bit of time looking it over, and realized a couple of things.-First: The clamp didn't apply even pressure to the fletch. The inner clamping surfaces did not meet evenly.-Second: The edges of the clamp... the surfaces that apply pressure to the shoulders of the fletch to hold it to the arrow... were not shaped properly. They did not apply that pressure evenly, or even at all in some places. They did not follow the shape of the arrow as the fletch curves around the shaft to make the spiral shape. Here's what I did to deal with the problem:As I said above... this jig isn't bad. It's built well... i.e. of good materials. It's worth the effort to make it better. I took a small knife and an hour of a winter evening working with it to reshape the clamping surfaces. Just scraping, not digging or cutting.-Hollowed out one side a bit to make the surfaces meet evenly.-Reshaped the edges to give them the curve to match the arrow.-Trimmed one end of the clamp to make it fit in the jig more easily. The end result is a jig that doesn't cost much and works well.... IF you're willing and able to do a little bit of careful work.Four stars for decent quality but needed some work to work as designed.

Not only does this come with the option of straight or helical vanes, it also offers two, three, and four-vane placement options. Plastic and magnets are of very good quality. I'm glad I took a risk on this item given it had no user reviews when I bought it. The closest substitute jig runs for $60 bucks at my local sporting goods store and only offers straight or helical versions - not both in one package.
