We have used the white and grey for our countertop projects and this stuff works fantastically. It is strong yet easy to sand. It becomes rock solid as expected and with our 3 young kids we have had 0 issues with it holding up. I do recommend a good sealer to keep from staining.

I built a mantle that I wanted to look like stone and after some research Ardex was by far the most obvious (and probably the only) option. It’s concrete so there is a cure time but not very long. And u should use small batches for each layer if you’re doing something similar to this. But as you can see it’s OSB I’m applying it to. I used PL375 construction adhesive to attach the OSB to the frame to allow expansion and hopefully prevent any future cracking in the concrete.I applied in thin layers and gave it about two hours to harden a bit and then sanded and scraped excess very gently to achieve the initial flatness and shape. Then let it harden for another 4-12 hours or longer and sand it. Wet sanding with stone pads and an orbital wax not an option for me since the layers are thin so I used 80 grit to get it smoother and flat. Took a total of 5 layers and about 3.5 daysI was going for a white limestone cast look and this stuff delivered. It definitely looks like a solid stone piece. I gave $80 tied up in this whole project and these mantles are $3500 plus online. Patience and YouTube will help a lot. I used Behr low luster sealer when done and it won’t change the texture or color with one or two coats. Very very satisfied with the results.

I knew I wanted a similar look to my Outdoor kitchen, which actually has poured concrete countertops. I also knew that I wanted to use the white Ardex feather as opposed to the gray so that I could add color and try and color match my pre-existing outdoor kitchen. So I built wood forms, and then I added cement board prior to starting the "feathering" process on my barstools and bar counters. Four Ardex coats later and four seal coats later, here is the finished product. Straightforward process to work with. But it sets up extremely fast. Fifteen mins max to work with, less if in direct sunshine and heat.

Great product though there were tiny metal beads in my mix which I had to pick out from the veneer project I did.

I have poured concrete in my other kitchen and used this project for my Airbnb kitchen. It was so much easier and works great.I love the look of concrete and wondered if this would even work...it totally works. My counters were peeling laminate they I didn't bother it even repair. This stuff sticks to everything. It goes on lust like joint compound and dries nice and hard. The counters still have a hollow cheap sound if you pound on them...but the counter under this is cheap and hollow. If you put this over something more solid, it would be even better.I do wish I went with the standard grey and not the white. The grey would look more industrial and concrete-like as compared to the white.

It’s expensive but if you’re here you’re probably specifically looking for white - and in comparison to anything out there it’s a deal. I was scared it wasn’t going to be a solid white white but it definitely is. Has almost no shine to it and completely shows everything but expected it it’s cement. Looks really good though happy with resultsUpdating review after a few months... it really doesn’t hold up at all. My countertops are barely used but there’s stains everywhere - yes I sealed and waxed - they’re cracking in several spots... I basically have to completely redo them soon they look horrible already

Ever since stumbling upon DIY Feather Finish Concrete Countertops on Pinterest I’ve been OBSESSED with the idea of tackling the project! I was so excited that Ardex offered a White finish because I’m ALL about crisp white everything. It did not fail to meet my expectations. It was a bit messier than I expected and I definitely needed a set of hands to help mix and then poor so I could spread it on top because it dried SO QUICKLY. But all in all they turned out FANTASTIC!
