Used this tool to remove rotor set screw on my brakes. Only issue is that the bit tends to come off sometimes after use.A locking mechanism would help to keep bit in after hammering it. It's compact and doesn't take much space.

Works great. Easy to use. No manual. Make sure to test the direction it spins before you use it. It has R and L stamped on it. I put it on L for what i thought meant left drive (counter clockwise) but when I tested it it was putting force on a clockwise axis thus tightening it. So in short: rotate it to R to loosen. Rotate to L to tighten. Also make sure the bit you use fits AND fills into the screw notches exactly or else you will bend or break the bit. I used the smaller ph and it fit perfectly but didn’t fill in the notches all the way. I didn’t try the other bit since it fit and after a few uses the tip is now bent. User error.

I saw this tool advertise and decided to get one so if/when I needed it, I would have it on hand. When received it included a card to go to the website to register the tool for an extended warranty. I attempted for a day to access the website and register my tool. For whatever reason the website was popping errors so I contacted the company by email and received a same day response with a request of information to register the product. I wrote all of that to write this...I was taking my 1952 8n apart for rebuild and got to the brake drums (held in place with 2 brake drum screws). One side came right off with just a screwdriver but the other side was stubborn. I remembered this tool and now have a reason to use it. I read all instructions and proceed to try and get the (large) screw out. I marked the screw to see if there was any movement. There was no movement and my bit was bent pretty good. I took the 2nd bit and did the same and this time the bit was actually tearing apart. I needed this rotor off so I ended up using an air hammer with spade bit and within seconds the 2 screws were loose enough to unscrew with standard screwdriver. I do believe if the bits were hardened to the same degree as air tools there wood be a lot less replacement bits sent out.Short story long, I contacted the company and questioned about the warranty and told them about the bits with an included picture. They responded stating the warranty was valid and a replacement set of bits would be sent out.The moral to the story is, take that 5 minutes or less to register your product to validate or extend your warranty. If you can't take that little time to do this then you have no grounds to complain, when you could have got a replacement under warranty. Everything breaks at some point. The worse thing anyone can say is, "No".My original rating would have been a 4-Star. But their customer service was extremely polite and promptly sent out a new set of bits. I would think that it would be a waste for the company to continue to replace bits because they are not hardened, but if they are getting them made a dime a dozen then it really is a moot point. I will upgrade my rating to a 5-Star. Sure the bits broke. Things happen and I know some things just take "more power". The air hammer ended up being the right tool for the job. Sermon over.

I needed to remove some floorboards from my deck to make a repair to a hot tub that butts up to the deck. The flooring screws are 16-year old phillips head, and I wanted to take them out without damaging the floorboards. Most of the screws came out with extreme difficulty using a high torque manual screwdriver, but eight of them would not budge. So I decided to order this impact driver. It came with an assortment of heavy duty bits. After about 20 hammer blows each (I used a 3-pound sledge), all of the impossible screws were backed out about 1/4 inch to where I could grab them with vise-grip pliers to finish the removal. Some of the slots on the "impossible" screws were so buggered up that I was sure I was ultimately going to have to drill them out, but this impact driver worked like a charm. I only used the PH2 bit, but it is touger and fits the slots better than any of dozen or so other PH2 bits that I have. After I was done the bit still looked brand new with no signs of wear at all. I will probably try to find an adapeter so I can use these heavy-duty bits with my other non-impact drivers.

Great tool, I was surprised by the quality and how heavy it feels. I bought it to remove two stuck screws, it did the job at the first try. Neither the tool nor the bits show the slightest sign of damage (I used a rubber mallet, I recommend this rather than a metal hammer - if not at least protect the tool with a rag or a piece of rubber). The tool body is chrome-plated and the bottom of the tool (the part holding the tip) can be removed (I discovered this by accident while trying to use a 3/8" bit to drive a standard socket, I didn't see this feature in the box - is it standard in all extractors?) revealing a 3/8" socket driver. I used this driver with a 14 mm socket to remove the rusted bolts holding my lawnmower blades. Again, worked at the first try, and having the right tool avoided damaging the bolts.I can't compare this tool to others in this price range ($400 Snap-On is out of range to me!) but I can't see how other tools can be much better, even at twice or three times the price of this one.The tool and the bits come in a practical plastic case. Highly recommended
