I discovered that I needed a special tool in order to remove the fuel filter on my 1998 Ford. I tried the on-line hacks using pen caps but was never able to get the clip to release the fuel filter. I cut 3 pen caps and tried unsuccessfully as each cap would deform and require me to cut another one. An entirely frustrating way to spend 2 hours! I then resigned myself to ordering this kit and put off the project to another weekend. I selected the size tool that seemed best and voila... the filter came off within seconds. The whole project to replace the fuel filter took me literally 15 minutes from start to finish.

I used the 3/8 inch circular tool that comes in this set to remove the fuel filter from my 1998 Mazda B2500 truck. It works for Ford Rangers too. Very good price and quality. I recommend this if you want to change your fuel filter yourself and save some money. Super easy to use as well. Just search for the video on YT for how to change the fuel filter on your specific vehicle. I believe it works with A/C lines as well.

I only have used it once but it would have been a bargain at twice the price! No way you are going to safely remove one of these confounded lines without this tool. Even if you don't need it now, buy one, put it in your toolbox and it will save you headaches when you or your buddy needs it.

These clips may work for many applications, however they did not work at all on my 2001 Yukon XL for removing the heater core lines for the air conditioning. This could be partially due that they are in an area that is really limited in space. I'll keep them in hopes that they will be good for possibly a fuel line disconnect.
