My garage has vinyl siding and I used this plastic plate to mount a dual flood light above my garage door. Mounted perfectly giving me a flat surface for the flood light base. This product was perfect for this job.

Bought a couple of these to mount my front and back porch lights. The old lights were just fastened to the lap siding and because of this they were not vertical. It didn't look right. Plus there was no electrical box, just wire coming out of a hole in the siding. The Arlington surface mount took care of both problems. Now I am up to code and the lights look great.Had to modify the plastic mount a little for my front porch light to make it fit. The wire came out near the top of the clapboard, so I had to take a little material off of the mount to make it slide up further on the clapboard to cover the wire. It didn't take very long, a coping saw worked well for this.
