What a beautiful piece of art. And what a wonderful instrument. Best purchase ever.

I looked at and listened to a few handpans under $1k and this is the best sounding one for the money. It honestly sounded just as good as ones that were threw times the cost. We love it!

Arrived very well packaged, and included everything needed to start playing the handpan. Can’t fault the product for the price paid, hours of enjoyment from it already, and many more to come !

The tones do not sound right. Tested each tone and found most are off or just barely within a range tolerance. Even the ding sounds strange. The long sustain is not appropriate for fast playing, and it causes weird echoing on certain types of strikes. Found that most of the notes must be struck in only one particular spot to generate a proper sound, and it makes playing almost unmanageable. Even as a starter pan I can not recommend it at this price point. There are many other Chinese pans to choose from so shop around.

I returned this one but I have another handpan from this manufacturer that is a different model that was better tuned and I use it to perform live. I would order again from the manufacturer.

Beautiful instrument at great price and sounds amazing.Unfortunately, spouse did not like color (that I loved), so we replaced it from same merchant with a gold Handpan. That one looked good enough for both of us, was even cheaper, and had possibly even nicer sound but its ding was way off tune, so we ordered a third one. That one is perfect for these prices. Exchange is very easy and free on Amazon, but I also read great reviews about the seller’s responsiveness if you choose to deal with them.

Came AMAZINGLY PACKAGED and great backpack included plus mallets and cleaning cloth! Sound is beautiful— the colours of mine could have been a little nicer, I had a feeling the item may have been sitting around for a while— or previously handled— but it plays nicely and looks beautiful and I’m GIDDY with joy about it! It came in decent time despite it being the holidays and there was a storm in Buffalo! I still got it in 2 weeks.A beautiful instrument with gorgeous sound!

For what it's worth, I'm seeing a lot of people who ordered the 440 hertz version which is shipped directly from amazon, and then complain it's out of tune - IF YOU'RE BUYING THIS DRUM, BUY THE 432 HERTZ VERSION, BECAUSE IT SHIPS DIRECTLY FROM ASTEMAN'S LOCATION AND NOT FROM AN AMAZON WAREHOUSE!!! Let me explain why.I work at Amazon, and I *know* from experience how people pick up and slam boxes all the time, and that is catastrophic to a handpan!! Handpans are extremely fragile instruments and too much banging around will, I repeat, WILL, make it go out of tune! If you received the 440 hertz version that shipped directly from Amazon and it arrived out of tune, IT'S NOT ASTEMAN'S FAULT! Buy the 432 hertz version, which ships directly from Asteman, who make sure the drum is in tune and plays beautifully, before they ship it out via UPS, who are much more careful with their packages (most of the time).Now, after that rant, let me get onto the product.I bought the Black Hole handpan in 432 hertz. First of all, it's a beautiful handpan. Looks beautiful. It sounds beautiful too, every note is BEAUTIFULLY in tune (I knew it would be, since it came directly from the seller and was shipped with expedited shipping. This handpan came from Asteman who are stationed in Hong-Kong and, after they finished checking to make sure it was in tune, it was on my door step in less than a week. Absolutely unreal.)The package comes with a carry bag, a pair of mallets, a stand, a cleaning cloth, and of course, the handpan itself. It was all beautifully packaged with care, and I was confident that, yes, my package wasn't banged around! Straight out of the box I put it on its little stand, which is the perfect height to play it while sitting on a low-sitting chair or on your knees, and I began to play. Now, I'm a novice, I obviously don't know good striking techniques right out of the box, but I COULD get good sounds out of it if I managed to hit it right, and not a single note felt dead. I will have to practice in order to get the full sound of the drum, but I invested in silicone finger picks to put at the end of my fingers which should make my strikes sound less horrendous while I'm learning. I am trying not to use the mallets as I know mallets are really bad to use with handpans, but so as long as I'm barely touching the notes I can still get sound out of this guy, so while I'm waiting for my finger picks I'm playing with the mallets VERY, VERY CAREFULLY as not to damage my drum. I recommend you do the same if you decide to use your mallets. Really, I mean barely tap it!All in all, this is a great instrument for the price. The sustain on this thing is unreal, the sound sounds better than every other low-cost handpan I've had the misfortune of hearing, and this is on par with a mid-level handpan. It's definitely not as good as the handpans that cost two grand though, so keep that in mind. Every note is one note, there's no different sounds on different axes, that I could find anyway. But like I said, I'm still learning, and I am still discovering the sounds of my own drum.Seriously, if you're deciding on a handpan and you're on a budget, go with Asteman, order the 432 hertz version to escape the Amazon warehouse mandhandling, and enjoy the fun of playing this extremely versatile instrument!Update: It's still in tune now that I learned proper striking techniques! It sounds heavenly. I will have to get another one in the F Pygmy scale sometime in the future!

Very good product and reliable service.I ordered this product for Christmas and it wasn’t delivered on time! But very soon I realised these lovely people had done their part and the problem was caused by strike in Uk Royal Mail!When I complained, the customer service team were very patient, friendly and yet helpful.I recommend this product especially with this reliable service.Thank you and Happy New Year.
