Lasted a year and 6 month, let me say first I love Astro Tools, have had great success with there other tools and will continue to buy Astro tools. That being said this is by far the WORST impact wrench i have ever used, incredibly under powered, the forward to revers switch got so it couldn't be moved by hand after 6 months, i disassembled the gun found no issues with the internal workings, put a little grease on the switch internals but it never got better. spent the nest year having to hit it with a hammer to change direction. the trigger is not variable you either get off or full speed. the speed gauge at the bottom of the handle is nice but could use some work, it can easily be move is something brushes up against it. its a good price and probably would be good if your not using it every day, nut if your a tech look for something else, your going to get what you paid for with this impact

Oh boy she’s got some power I’ll tell you . My go to is my dewalt dcf921 half inch . Has plenty of power for most of what I work with but sometimes I come across some dang tight bolts and THOR just gets em out with a sweat

I discovered one of the wheels on my F-150 had the lug nuts over-torqued, probably from my last state inspection. My electric impact couldn't budge any of them. I broke one of my breaker bars in an attempt to loosen one of them, so I borrowed a friend's pneumatic impact and that failed to loosen anything as well. I've had my eye on this and figured now was a good time to get it. My first attempt failed, only removing one of the lug nuts, but I was using 3/8" hose and 1/4" NPT fittings. I purchased a 1/2" hose and 3/8" high flow NPT fittings and I was able to remove all but one. The last one required heat and a breaker bar with an extension. I think my limiting factor is my 20 gallon compressor. All the controls worked well, as well as the forward/reverse switch, which has received criticism in other reviews. It's heavy, but I'll only use this when I need a brute to loosen hard-to-remove fasteners. I look forward to using this tool in the future!

Strong gun. The more air you feed the gun the happier it is. Very strong a bit heavier then most but it’s not a everyday weapon, only when more power is needed

It took about 2 weeks of heavy use for the selector to work properly but it's the most powerful gun in the shop. If it isn't coming loose it's gonna snap in half. Beware when using at high pressure (160 psi) it actually hurts the hand with how hard it hits

Update: called customer service. Amazing to talk to on the phone. Total length of time for the call was maybe 5 minutes. Sent me an email with instructions to send the gun in and have it serviced for free. Will update upon its return.Original review:First off I do not like the trigger at all. It seems to stick and there is no throttling it. It’s on or off. I just broke the forward reverse switch after owning it for 4 months. Can’t say I’m very happy with the purchase. I will contact Astro and figure out how to fix it. Guess I’ll go back to the old reliable IR for now.

I have owned several of these impacts. I run an auto repair facility and have ran 4 of these through the business. All have faced the same fate. The trigger and the directional mechanism all fail. Changing directions is a chore that usually involves having to tap and basically force the mechanism to change direction. The triggers jam and overall work hard. The latest Thor was this G2 which I had hoped would have the bugs worked out. Not the case however, as this one is also failing within a year. When the guns work they do have good power and can keep up in a shop. The price is great, but in this case it looks like you get what you pay for. Ill be switching back to the trusted Ingresoll Rand

Impact is very powerful and quiet but the trigger is very sensitive. Still great to have around for larger repairs but not the best for tires etc..

Needed a new impact to replace my 40 year old gun. Bought it to reach higher torque for rebuilding hydraulic cylinders to torque cylinder piston bolt of 450+ ft. lbs. of torque. Worked great right out of box. Light weight makes it easy to handle. Have only used it for a couple jobs, but so far love it.

Any nut or bolt does not stand a chance...if it doesn't turn...it will break.

This impact gun is a great bang for your buck if other reviews are true. I just got one and haven't had a chance to use it yet. It's got quite a good amount of heft to it and it has a lot of torque free spinning.
