I was able to test this inside, but it did not perform well outside or even if there are any light sources inside the home, the outside ring where the light comes from reflects other light sources, making it difficult to use. Furthermore, I have sent an email to the manufacturer when the light dimmed (I replaced batteries and checked voltages.) but have not heard back from them to find out what's wrong.
