Biggest things with these vortecs is brass terminals! Aluminum corroded within months! This distributor supplies brass terminals in cap and rotor and has lasted over a year so far!

I've had very good luck with this brand in the past so I figured I would give a go, few months after ordering I install this distributor to find the rotor was already broke. kind of disappointing. Another note worthy thing is the plug for the hall sensor did not snap in properly, I have yet to have it fall out and be a problem but it's definitely left me weary. I've bout 2 other distributors from this company in the past and they were great but this one was not worth it

Quick and easy to install if you've done it before, looks fairly clean on the outside but honestly all I can say, the thing works great for the price. Is it adjustable? No. Did it come with a gasket? Sure, and it honestly works pretty good. The cam sensor works pretty good. Only been using it for a couple weeks. Just remember that this part is 150-250 less than a Delco distributor and there's a reason for that. If you want cheap but good setup buy this distributor and throw a summit racing (SUM-G5225) cap and rotor, it's got all the brass contacts. And get a delco (213-920) cam sensor for reliability + do the ozone evac mod for the distributor venting on the bottom to make the whole thing last longer. For about

Great part! I have a 97 k1500 Silverado with 5.7l. Aluminum is certainly better than plastic "for a distributor anyway". Find number one on the compression stroke, install with button pointed at the little 8 on the rim, and tighten the hold down. I used my originally as it was made of a heavier material and works well. The one that came with this new distributor is more of a stamped thin piece of metal. What took the longest was using a long screw driver to reach down in the block to ease the oil pump shaft around to mesh up just right.Would definitely recommend this distributor!!

Nice aftermarket Distributor. Did the job for my chevy. The only thing I could suggest to improve this distributor is to have a factory mark on the distributor shaft lining up the dimple on the bottom of the dist. shaft gear for your starting point setting for the initial mash into cam gear so the distributor is clocked perfectly. Very affordably priced.

1. All metal construction. The tabs that hold the distributor cap in place are aluminum!! The screws for the cap are fine thread "bolt style" threads. The screws heads are Phillips.2. The rotor uses Phillips head screws.3. The cam gear appears to be high quality.4. The electrical plug was a bit too long. I used sandpaper to make the plug shorter.5. VERY IMPORTANT reminder for all mechanics: Inside the distributor's cam gear is a flat bladed screwdriver thingie that engages the OIL PUMP. If you can't get the rotor to align with the "8", here is the fix: remove distributor. Stick a long flat bladed screwdriver into the hole, and turn the oil pump a few degrees. Reinstall distributor.Discussion: The camshaft spins the distributor gear, and therefore spins the rotor. The flat bladed screwdriver inside the distributor gear spins the oil pump. (Deep inside your engine, the oil pump drive is sitting next to the camshaft). If the oil pump "female" slot is not perfectly aligned with the cam gear, the ignition timing will be off. No start. Not able to aim the rotor at the "8" embossed on the distributor body while keeping the flat side of the dist body parallel with the intake manifold. . TIP: No need to remove a valve cover to check for TDC. Remove top half of fan shroud, so you can see the crank pulley timing marks. Rotate engine by hand ( 1 3/4" water pump wrench on the fan). Rotate until timing mark lines up. At this point, the cam timing is either perfect, or 180 out. Install Distributor. Fire it up. If it backfires, carefully lift the dist body and rotate the rotor 180 degrees. Fires up first time. // Dont worry about cam retard nonsense.
