Your cart is empty.ATP's premium replacement GM 3.8l intake manifold is re-engineered to correct common failure points, and importantly, prevent repeat replacements. A metal-cert sleeve is installed in the EGR port, along with a spacer pipe that allows for heat dissipation between the tube and the port. This reduces internal heat build-up and keeps the area around the port cooler, preventing cracks. In addition to this, the manifold is constructed from a heat stabilized nylon, providing better resistance to heat and cold/hot cycles, along with additional reinforcement ribs to further prevent any chances of cracking. The full kit includes a replacement manifold, spacer pipes for early & late production engines, PCV cover, vacuum hose connector and early & late production injector O-rings.

Thankfully before installation I found that a single coolant passage on the plenum did not line up with the original. I tested this with both the new gasket and old gasket, and I found that if I were to install this then I’d immediately have a coolant leak or consumption. ATP needs better QC, this should have been bought but them quickly. The seller however was easy to work with which is why I’m leaving 4 stars. I don’t want to hurt their reputation. Overall if this coolant passage was in the correct position, this would be an incredible value for the price.One last thing, the EGR cutout in the plenum DOES NOT have the metal sleeve as advertised in the ATP product pictures and description.

I bought this intake after doing a ton of research and flip-flopping between which brand of aftermarket intake to buy for my 05 bonneville. Every single intake has hit or miss reviews, but being this was the OG fix intake back in the day, I went with it. I believe I made a good choice. It has been about 3 weeks since the job has been done, and everything is running as it should.This was my first time doing this job, and also replacing the lower intake gaskets since it's only a few more bolts at that point. I won't go into to much detail, but everything bolted together as it should, and did not crack. Is this the easiest job? No, but as long as you're careful and stay organized while taking everything apart, you'll be fine. There are videos on youtube that will help guide you. TRQ has some great ones. I used the Dorman instructions for torquing the upper intake bolts down, doing it in 3 passes. My torque wrench didn't go as low as 22 in-lbs though, so I did 44, 66, and then finally 89. Then torqued to 89 a second time. Torque wrench used is an ICON TW38-200 / 56614 from harbor freight. Make sure you use a good wrench - if your torque wrench is out of spec or decides to not work, this can be a big problem.Out of an abundance of caution from some of the reviews here, I did use the GM upper intake gasket instead of the one that came with this kit. I'm sure it would have been fine, and the material seemed the same. The GM gasket was a slightly tighter fit.For the review mentioning the small cut-out on one of the runners causing a misfire, this is a non issue. My stock intake also had one in the same spot. I attached a picture of my stock intake, I didn't take pictures of them side by side.

I had no problem at all mounting the new intake. It all seemed line up fairly well. The quality was good. The only slight issue I had was the EGR cover seems to be a bit fragile. I cracked one of the years but was able to still use the cover. Note that when installing the upper intake you will need to install the PCV valve and orings from the old intake. It does not come with the kit and could be easily overlooked. Be sure to read the instructions and remove the old and install the appropriate EGR tube that comes with the kit. Overlooking this could lead to the same problem over again.

2/27/2018 - upon inspection after opening up, right where I have circled red. Is the New ATP that I installed several years ago. Now that gasket completely melted where I circled. On the right in the pic is the previous owners which was fine and never leaked. I just changed it out cause of LIM when I was doing that. Now I just bought a brand new ac delco which I will use to replace with.Installed on 8/12/15, still running strong (4/10/16). No problems with it so far. Good part.

Nice intake for around $70 and everything bolted and aligned as it should. My 2004 Buick Leasbre was slowly starting to eat antifreeze with no visible leak. I also replaced the lower intake gaskets(Felpro) and figured use felpro gaskets at the same time for the upper intake. The gaskets that came with the intake looked fine and I'm sure I would've not had a problem(saved gaskets in case I ever need to do it again), but for peace of mind I used the Felpro. Nice touch with metal sleeve and smaller pipe for the EGR. As someone has stated the injector o-rings where all the upper o-rings where the injector goes into the fuel rail. I only needed to replace the lower ones that go into the manifold and where luckily included with my Felpro lower intake gasket kit. I got the Dorman aluminum coolant elbows and just replaced the one that goes into the lower intake and I didn't need to remove the alternator/idler pulley where other plastic elbow is located. Also the elbow I removed was still in very good shape and not brittle, so I figured the smaller elbow was in similar condition and needed no replacement at the present time. I don't know what one reviewer did to break the intake because I torqued to specs and everything was fine. My problem was the lower gaskets had started to fail at the two cooling passages closest to alternator with only 30k on my 2004 Buick Lesabre. There was a little bit of oil puddled in the lower intake and when I removed the upper intake there was a good film of oil all over everything. As most people recommend if you are doing the upper intake also do the lower intake gaskets. I was able to leave my alternator on and still easily reach all bolts for the lower intake. The lower intake is very easy especially since you have everything already out of the way for the upper intake. The hardest bolt was the bracket for throttle body. I couldn't reach the small 8mm bolt that attaches to lower intake to swing it out of the way, so I saw another installer just bend it over after removing the bolt from the throttle body which worked fine(can just leave throttle body attached to intake to remove but I let throttle cables attached and swung it out of the way). All and all this is a nice intake and easy job for anyone who has turned a wrench before. There are tons of videos that will show you how to do this and you can't go wrong with this intake!
