The best repair is to replace the old cable with a new one. ATP accelerator cables are designed to fit and function just like the original part to ensure durability and long life.

This is the perfect length for a 1988 Suzuki Samurai. Easy install. Make sure you leave enough slack in the cable to prevent binding or you will damage the cable sleeve and could blow up your engine if the cable binds and causes the motor to go into full RPMs. My mechanic installed it wrong after a new rebuild and almost killed the new engine. Look up the specs on how much slack you need in the cable to prevent binding or over idling. It’s extremely important. My mechanic didn’t understand this and told me my new Weber carb was bad because of the fast idle and damaged the new cable from being too taught and binding and nearly cost me a new motor rebuild. He’s been fired!

This replaced the original cable on a 1991 Samurai, which had a couple broken strands on each end. Went on very easy, but almost zero adjustment range as it was right up to the ends of the thread to get the right cable sag recommended by Suzuki. Time will tell if it is a durable as the 25 year old original, but the price was right and it looks to be of sound construction.
