This Attwood Model 500 GPH Shower Sump Pump System delivers outstanding performance for fast water flow into and out of the sump. It is so versatile it can utilize multiple inlets hooked up to more than one drain source using different hose sizes. For instance, it can handle inflow from the head sink, shower stall, and galley sink. The standard sump box includes an air vent to prevent air locks. Its lid snaps in to allow quick installation, and for removal for cleaning, and it includes a gasket to seal the sump box against overflow. This Model 500 GPH Sump Pump System has a ¾-inch interior diameter outlet hose, is rated for 12 volts, and uses a 22-inch wire connection. It meets or exceeds all applicable ABYC and USCG standards. Attwood Corporation has been an award-winning leader in engineering, testing, and manufacturing the highest quality marine products for over 150 years. We deliver safe and reliable lighting, fuel systems, water systems, seating & pedestals, swim ladders, custom upholstery, and general marine accessories that are easy to install and meet regulatory compliance.

This shower sump setup is slightly better designed than others but is still not a good value.Would not pump out of the box because of a faulty check valve (flapper type) - Extremely annoying to troubleshoot after it was all installed and full of water. The material the box is made out of is flimsy, and despite a better lid design, better wiring routing than other sump systems, the box is still going to leak if it doesn't pump, it still catches dirt everywhere, and still leaves a ton of water left in the box to grow mildew and mold. I have zero confidence in the longevity of the check valve - If it can't work correctly out of the box, it is going to get stuck open or closed when put in service with dirty water. The float switch was really inconsistent - Sometimes the pump turned on when the box was nearly full, sometimes at only half full. This is also a bad sign for the longevity of the system when in service. My experience with this sump system was bad enough that I went to a completely different way of dealing with the shower water. It's nice to see a nice new shower pump box in your boat compared to your old nasty one, but the product itself is not good.

It was an easy install and works great. It’s a very good brand which I’ve used before on a previous boat.

This product is the exact same size as the one I am replacing which I thought was going to be difficult to find . What I really like is the float is built right inside the pump and the quality is very good . Neatly manufactured and the brand has a good reputation .

This box and pump were installed on my 43 foot sailboat about 13 months ago. It worked OK for about 12 months. After that, the float switch would not turn the pump on. (You could slowly raise the float fully by hand, and nothing would happen --- you needed to kind of "thwack" it up to get it to run.) Terrible. I needed to turn it on/off manually. So I bought another pump about 30 days ago. This second pump came on OK, but had trouble pumping the water out of the box due to the check valve. As a result, the pump would come on, and run and run and run and run -- much of the time sucking air/water. So, I removed the check valve. Now it runs for about 2 minutes -- of which only about 20 seconds is truly useful.I think Attwood is not paying any attention to quality control. (And the installation directions say the box has to be absolutely level, which is CRAZY for a product being sold into the boating market.)

Bought to replace a cheaper Rule sump box that had failed. This seems to be much better quality. Runs well and reasonably quiet. No issues with the auto float at all.

Very pleased with this sump. The design is much better than the previously installed model which required me to clean the strainer about every 4 showers. Since the old one would "gunk" up so quickly we would always be standing in 3-4" of water while showering. This Attwood sump requires far less cleaning as the strainer holes are much larger.....still stops hair, but the soapy water flows right through keeping the shower floor empty. Wish I had replaced my old sump with this one much sooner.
