This Light Base has a low profile to help prevent water from pooling on the top of the black overmold 306 stainless steel cover. I bought this thinking it would look cleaner than the rubber capped $8 version and it certainly does but there is nothing to keep the cap closed, so it’s not as waterproof as the rubber cap version that stays put. I expected at least some friction to keep it closed but it just flops back and forth.The second time I put my light in it broke one of the pins shear off at the base, like it was cut. I even did it gently compared to how I’ve haphazardly crammed it into the cheap one for years. Very disappointed, I must’ve gotten a bad one, attwood is generally pretty good but this one isn’t built well for double the price.

Worked great on my 2009 SeaRay Sundeck 260. The new twist on piece slipped right onto the original pole light perfectly. As with another review, I found that the screw holes in the flange were slightly different from the originals, but since it was mounted in vinyl covered wood, the screws went in to the original holes without any problems, just slightly on an angle.

Replacing the base for the stern nav. light on our boat. Although the part numbers were identical the base was smaller than the original and the screw holes did not line up. Had to redrill.

Perfect drop in replacement, my previous holder broke a pin. Installed in 10 minutes with a crimper, two crush connectors, and some electrical tape.
