It has excellent, accurate tuning and features an arched windway for more expressive playing and dynamic versatility. The recorder is in the key of F and the register is from f'' (1.5 octaves above middle C) to g'''' (two octaves above). It is made from quality ABS plastic and comes in three parts which can be easily yet firmly fitted together. It is supplied in a smart leatherette bag with a cleaning rod, joint grease and a fingering chart.

I own a couple of sopraninos. My other one is a single piece. This one is three pieces and thereby more playable. Being able to adjust the relationship of the parts to one another makes it MUCH more comfortable for me to get my rather large hands and long fingers in the desired spots. It is well made, plays great and has a good tone, all for a very reasonable price. And it’s just a blast! Have fun!

I was nervous practicing on a recorder with such a high pitch, but I love this instrument. Amazing sound quality in all registers. A pleasant sound. My rabbit actually comes out and binkies when he hears the instrument being played. Light clear tone. Great for Irish folk music and classical pieces. Such a joy to play and practice. Thank you Aulos and Thank you Amazon.

I had a different brand sopranino that sounded fuzzy. This one is nice and clear.

Bought this to play in my consort. The tone is not shrill, but rather pleasing. Intonation is perfect.

Such fun to play.. Sounds great. A strong recommendation is to pair this with the book: Sweet Pipes Playing Alto Recorder; you will be glad you did.

Pros:1. The carry pouch is attractive, but just adequate.2. The tone quality is "reedy". That's good if you like the "reedy" tone.3. The low A 440 is in tune.4. The color is a very dark brown (almost black).5. It has an arched/curved wind-way.6. The bell end is concave, which may provide protection of the bottom opening.7. The joints fit perfectly (three piece).8. The design and construction seems superior to the Yamaha YRN-302BII (the Lyon model looks like an imitation of the Yamaha).Cons:1. When compared/contrasted with the Yamaha YRN-302BII, the Aulos 507 B has a thinner tone quality. The 302BII has a fuller tone. The Lyons sopranino (model unknown) is the lesser of the three because of a "fuzzy" tone.2. The high A is flat.Observation:1. The Aulos 507 is slightly longer than the Yamaha YRN-302BII.2. I found it on Amazon, at the time, for around $12.60.

Sweet sounding instrument, surprisingly well in tune - much more so than my "top of the line" wooden soprano recorder. Looking forward to playing it in ensembles.
