I picked up this Automatic Center Punch because I am lacking a center punch in my tool set. When I saw it on my data feed, I was reminded that I needed one and I snapped it up. Unfortunately, I didn't read the product description carefully because who doesn't know how a center punch works? Apparently, I don't. This is not your father's center punch. You don't take a hammer and strike it to create holes or indents in your target. Rather, this center punch is designed to work without a hammer, which I suppose is fine if you want to break through a windshield or punch through a material. However, if you want less pressure to create an indent rather than a hole, you are out of luck; the pressure cannot be adjusted.I know this center punch has its uses and I'll probably use it on occasion, but an old fashioned punch would have suited me better. This one is too fancy for my needs, but it may be exactly what you're looking for, if you don't know how to use a hammer.

high quality center hole punch that works great to create a small hole for drilling. Must have tool for do it yourself work
