I ordered this pump as a back up for my much more expensive and aging cover pump. This pump has good pumping power, an extra long pull string (I can walk with it all around my whole pool) and a nice big handle. It handled the rain last night pretty well. I thought I had the valve adapter on tight, but must have loosened it when screwing on the hose because it detached very quickly after starting. So make sure all is tight before positioning on your cover. I retightened it and it was just fine after that. My biggest complaint is that it doesn't remove all of the water before stopping (see photo). It leaves about an inch or two of water, which is annoying.

We recently got this Automatic Pool Cover Pump, and it has been a game-changer for maintaining our pool area. The 1/2HP pump quickly and efficiently removes water from the pool cover, saving us time and effort. The integrated check valve prevents backflow, ensuring smooth operation every time. We love the 3 versatile adapters that make it easy to connect to different setups, and the extra-long 29.5FT power cord gives us plenty of flexibility. It’s also great for our hot tub and basement, offering reliable performance for various tasks. Highly recommend this pump for anyone looking to keep their pool or outdoor area clean and dry!

this is a well designed, good working pool cover pump, with a design flaw that prevents it from being awesome. It does not have large enough holes to pick up small leaves and the debris that accumulates on a pool cover. I put it on my pool cover, which had a couple inches of water, and small leaves and pollen from my trees. It sucked a lot of water out, but when it got to the last 20-30 gallons, it clogged up and stopped. I have used other pumps to do the same thing, and they have larger inlets and suck all the water out without stopping. The base to the pump is a good idea, and keeps the pump level, but its inlet holes are also, too small and the pump sucks itself to the cover and no water comes out. The long cord is nice, and the volume is great until the inlet clogs. This is a well built pump, but the inlet is too small.

This is a work horse - well made at this price point. I have a Little Giant pump as well so this is perfect for our pool cover when we have heavy rainfall and need more pumping power. It does a good job of siphoning off the water and has a long power cord which is terrific. It comes with adapters for different hose sizes which is handy. It made from high quality materials and looks like we will get many years of use from it. Overall very pleased!

This pump is...POWERFUL.Initially, I used this pump to power a small waterfall in my koi pond. I have a 10-gallon reservoir that the pump sits in, and filtered water pours into from the main pond. This pump is so efficient at 3/4HP, that it emptied my 10-gallon reservoir faster than the pond could refill it!Obviously, that wouldn't work, so I switched it to my above ground pool to cycle the water. Its a phenomenal pump system. This is certainly worth the money, especially since it comes with multiple adapters and auger filter that keeps large debris from clogging it.No complaints on this product. I was really impressed and very pleased with how well it works.

This is a substantial pump that seems to have been well put together, and after a little assembly, can be put into service right away. The only item that the user would need to provide is the discharge hose. I had everything ready, but I haven't had a need to put it to use yet.The pump is capable of a lift height of 30 feet, max. It comes with 2 discharge adapters and a reel of Teflon tape. The side-discharge can be a straight line from the pump or raised at a 90-degree angle. The power cord, including the float switch, is almost 30 feet long. The pump also comes with a wider base for stability and clearance from the bottom. This base comes in two parts and can be assembled quickly. When getting this pump ready, be mindful of the following:1. The strainer base can be assembled easily. I noticed that it is easier to assemble if the two halves are upside down. The locking tabs can be located more easily, making snapping them together much easier.2. The water connections are plastic. I had trouble getting the adapters to engage smoothly into the fitting on the side of the pump and had to be very careful to avoid stripping the threads. Brass fittings, instead of plastic, would provide a smoother and more secure connection. Proceed carefully and patiently in this assembly step.3. The directions did not include removing the zip tie holding the float switch in place during shipping. Remember to snip off the zip tie carefully to avoid damaging the power cord. All in all, this is a very good pump that could be made better by substituting brass couplings, instead of plastic, to provide both smooth and secure connections and avoid the possibility of stripping the threads.

I actually bought this to use as a sump in my crawlspace which can get standing water during heavy downpours. Tested it out and it does exactly what it says; Kicks on automatically when the water comes about one third the way up the side of the pump and turns off with only about a half inch left. The clip on base is beefy and secure. Everything looks and feels robust, even the cord is substantial and a nice length. Great value!
