it works well with all my corded tools or just as a regular plug in. The single plug on the top row is the vacuum socket which is used for larger machinery like table saws and band saws radial arm saws, etc. it has it's own on/off/auto switch dedicated to that plug in socket.the only issue I can foresee is that people may mistake this for an extension cord. The cord on this box is only about 2 feet long. It is meant to be plugged into a floor socket or a socket close to a machine. But it works well and its easily installed.

Quality product. Works just as described by the manufacturer. Some people complain about the light that stays on all the time. These people need to get real if that is a problem for them. They must be looking for something to find and complain about. Super product for me. No complaints.

I wish I could shake the hand of the person who came up with this fantastic design! Works fantastic! Obviously super easy to use, plug in your vac, plug in your tool and voila dust collection when you use your tool! Best utility I've had in a long time. The build quality is great and it should be around for a long time. Pretty much a set it and forget it type tool. The kind I love.If you are not sure or have a wood worker in your life...don't guess. Buy this item, they will love you for it!

2 tools that I use that are not normally connected to my dust collection system are my portable router table and my 13 inch planer. The dust port on both of these tools in in the back of the tool making the best location for the vacuum behind the tool as well. Because these tools are louder than the vacuum, it is hard to tell if I turned the vacuum on once the tool is running and difficult to get to the vacuum to turn it on once the tool is in use. This device makes that so much easier. Once I set the tool up and connect the vacuum to it with this switch set in automatic, every time I turn the tool on, it turns on the vacuum for me. When the tool is turned off, it continues to run the vacuum for a few more seconds to catch any other dust at the end of the run. I really like that. The only change that I would make to this switch is the function of the power light. It has a light that turns on as soon as you plug this switch in and just stays on, regardless of operation. I guess that it can let you know if the circuit breaker on the switch pops but otherwise, it's pretty much useless. I would make it a function light tied to the vacuum outlet. When the function switch it set to off, the light is out. When the switch is set to automatic but the vacuum outlet is off, it can blink letting you know that it is ready, When the vacuum outlet is activated, either by the switch powering it due to a tool being on or if the function switch is set to on. This way, even with a loud tool you can see the vacuum is turned on, even if you can't hear it. This is not in any way a deal breaker, just an added feature if changed but I intend to get a lot of use out of this switch exactly as it is.

My router table has a built in power strip that turns the vacuum and router on/off at the same time. I always loved that feature, so I was excited when I saw this switch designed to provide that same capability to any 15A tool. Moreover, this switch includes some additional features. It has a built in circuit breaker for easy resets and a power switch with three modes for the vacuum outlet (off, on and auto). "On" is necessary to run the vacuum for cleaning without a tool in operation. Would prefer if "off" were not an option, the vacuum can always be turned off with its own switch. "Auto" turns the vacuum on one second after a tool is powered up. It also waits 7 seconds after the tool is powered down to turn the vacuum off (to clear the lines of dust). This feature works great, it is nice to no longer have the loud shop vacuum running continuously during cuts! The included cord is very short and my outlet is near the floor. Would prefer a longer cord to place the switch at standing height. That would make it easier to plug in tools and to switch the vacuum on for cleanup. I was worried that the circuit breaker would trip too often when powering a 15 amp tool and the vacuum, but that has not been an issue yet. The line breaker is 20 amp, so it should never trip with this switch in place.
