Doesnt fit the heater it claims to fit in, wick has to be cut in several places and the metal collar doesn't have enough holes for the mechanism to smoothly raise and lower ot

The wick is great but the way it is manufactured sucks. Instead of using the strings on the bottom of the wick, it should be solid strands and a recessed area of the wick to allow the sprocket excess to the metal part of the wick that adjusts the height of the wick. Too thick making it impossible to adjust which makes it very dangerous.

I ordered this for an old perfection heater. It does fit physically, but not so much practically. What I mean is that this wick fits the perfection just fine. However, the design doesn't really work for the perfection heater. The perfection heater needs the "seam" of the wick to split at the same location as the grooves for the raising/lowering mechanism. This is 90 degrees to that, and so you can't get the wick to feed properly. Also because the wick is "strings" not solid like the normal perfection heater wick, the strings get tangled in the winding mechanism. I ended up cutting out a section of the wick so that it would feed properly and not get tangled. Once I did that it did feed, and seems to work just fine. I ran it for over an hour after replacing the wick, and it did just fine. So it will work, but isn't the best option.
