I think that the Supplier has a quality issue on this batch of Tool Holders.This was the second Tool Holder that I purchased, and both have the same issue. I checked and confirmed that the tool post and holder are for a # 200 series (Model #250-100) Tool Post. These tools are manufactured in China. The issue is that the dovetail is not machined to the proper dimensions. It's too narrow and does not slide over the male dovetail on the Tool Post. You can visibly see the variance in the thickness from side to side on the dovetail. The supplier needs to scrap the entire lot of Tool Holders ... or ... have them machined before they can be sold.

Very bad tolerances. First, the dovetails did not leave enough tolerance to fit my toolpost, so I had to re-cut them by about 60 mils to fit properly. Second, the 3/4" hole for the boring bar was not true to size all the way through. I had to re-bore it so the boring bar could go all the way through. Works fine after I re-manufactured it!

I bought this tool holder so that I could have an internal grooving tool set up in addition to my internal boring bar without having to change out between boring and grooving. This boring bar tool holder fit my quick change pool tool post perfectly. Fit and finish is very good. I can see no discernible difference from my other boring bar tool holder.

Got the job done but was a bit disappointed by the quality compared to other Chinese quick change tool holders. The dovetail fit is a bit loose. It took the entire stroke of my tool post to lock it down. I needed to ream out the thru hole to get a 3/4” boring bar to go in easily. Most all edges were sharp and needed to be deburred. With all that said, it still got the job done but if I had to do it again I’d find another vendor for this item and hope for better quality. I got regular Chinese tool holders which were pristine so I know the Chinese quality exists.
