I've never used a wooden bat for softball, but I was curious to give this a try. I don't know what I was expecting, but when I hit some balls for fun just tossing them up in the air myself, I was pleased. It has more pop than I was expecting. The sound is great. I like the weight alright. The bat looks terrific.Since it's not softball season, I haven't used this in a game yet, so I'm curious to see how it stands up to our metal bats. I have no wood bat experience to compare this with anything else. However, before hitting around with it, I wasn't sure if I would even want to use it. After hitting, I'm excited to give it a try next season.

Ordered this bat on a whim cause I really liked the idea of a baseball bat with an axe handle just seemed really cool and different and I was right. This bat is well made and feels very good to swing with. It works perfectly for me in my softball league and has become the teams favorite bat as well as I have teammates constantly asking to use it over their own bats. All in all this was great spur of the moment order and has been a pleasure to use. I am probably order a couple more to give away as gifts since the response to it has been so positive. I would give this bat 5 stars without question.

This is a very nice, quality wood bat. Since it is a wood bat, it's going to be heavier. In some cases, this can be almost twice the weight of some composite bats you can get these days. That being said, the heavier weight from the wood bat gives a more solid hit. On mishits you do feel it a little more than you would in a modern bat. The wood is kind of old school and gives off a classy vibe. The flared axe handle means you grip it the same way every time so the sweet spot will stay the same. I also feel the axe handle allows for a more comfortable swing and follow through. It is a little bit skinner than a standard/modern bat so have to be a little more precise in your hits. Overall, this bat looks nice, feels nice, and performs well.

I recently purchased this pro hard maple baseball bat, and I am thoroughly impressed!
