These little basins are surprisingly useful! I thought I'd use them mostly for sorting beads and other related crafts, but I've found many more random uses for them - as a tray for vitamins, and even inside a drawer to hold some business cards. They are individually wrapped, and the plastic is sturdy but flexible.

These are a very useful item to have at hand even if you’re not in a laboratory setting. It is well-made and, even though it’s thin plastic, will hold up to a fair amount of use/abuse without cracking or deforming. It’s ideal for mixing small amounts of liquids, such as essential oils, since the tray design makes it simple to dispense the mixed liquid (either via pipette, dropper, or by just pouring it out via the pour spots on the corners). There is a marker for 25ml, but it can hold more (about 30ml) if filled to the top. Each comes individually wrapped. It can be a bit of a chore to open the bag by hand – the instructions say to “pull smartly” but you really need to pull! After trying to open the first couple by hand I resorted to using scissors to cut the bag, which was far easier. But, on the plus side, the sturdy bag ensures these will remain sterile even in storage. If you deal with essential oils these are well worth getting.

Like many of the other reviewers, I do not work in a laboratory and probably will never have a need for sterile basin trays. That being said, I still find them to be very handy for keeping small items from getting lost. My husband does woodworking and often needs to match stains for a project. With these handy basins, he can precision mix different stains to obtain the best match then use that formula to make the quantities he needs. The pouring spout works well without dripping.I have also seen them in his shop for sorting/storing very small pieces. He likes to take things apart and sometimes misplaces the little parts. These keep him organized until it's time to put the item back together.Since they come individually wrapped, he opens several at a time and stacks them to conserve space & have them handier. They stack together nicely. When he needs more he just takes several at a time, unwraps them and stacks them in his shop. I know this is probably wasteful considering there original intent, but still very useful for our several purposes. They are small, (2.5" x 6") so read the description carefully before buying.

These sturdy, well designed basins are perfect for so many small, messy tasks. The built in pour spouts make it easy to dispense whatever you've combined in the basin. From paint touchups to combining essential oils or mixing any liquid components. They could be used for mixing small amounts of just about anything.I expect to find many uses for these basins.Drawback is the amount of space required to store them. Each individual basin is wrapped in plastic to keep it sterile until you open it for use. They cannot be easily stacked and the box they came in was larger than I expected it to be.They could also be used for mixing dry ingredients or for organizing small objects. While I'm not likely to use them for their intended purpose, they will be very handy for many tasks around the house.

Each basin comes in sterile packaging, and is individually wrapped. On the one hand, this ensures that the basins stay sterile. On the other, without stacking them storage can be a problem. Pretty big box for the fifty basins in a case. Each basin was thicker and sturdier than I anticipated, and it appears will hold up well. Company should consider marketing non-sterile versions for a myriad of uses (workshops, arts and crafts, etc).

I know these are for labs and my husband says they use them at his work, but I'm not interested in what they use them for in labs, only in what I plan on using them for. I was at my daughter's house recently and couldn't help but notice all the tiny items she had strewn about that she used in her crafting projects....like sequins, little tiny bells, buttons, paints, clothes pins, leather stuff, etc. I mean the craft store she shops at must be happy to see her walk in the door. I never saw so much tiny stuff in my life. I saw these on Amazon and got an idea. My husband built her a standing bookshelf and then I spray painted these different colors and stuck 2 sided tape on the bottoms and glued them to shelves, then I made labels of stuff I could remember she had and stuck a label stating what it was on front lip of shelf. It looks real bright and colorful and best of all she can now get organized. These are about 5.75 and a half inches long and about 2.5 inches wide. They are slightly less than an inch in depth. The plastic isn't real thick but is thick enough to stay rigid. They would be great for mixing stuff in since they have the little pour spouts in corners. For what I used them for they didn't need to be sterile but I can see why they would in a lab and they are in individual bags that are easy to open. They came with 50 in the box. Because they are in their own bags, they didn't stack in there but are nestled together in a box that is 14x13x6 inches. Not big at all although Amazon sent that box in a huge box. The box doesn't weigh much, probably 2 to 3 lbs. The basins are made in China.

Each of the basins comes individually wrapped in thick plastic bags. They cannot be stacked while wrapped, and as a result they take a lot of space. The individual wraps are easy to snap open. There is flange around the bottom for stability and the sides have indentations for reinforcement. Basins are made of polystyrene and are sturdier than they look. The inside channel is about 4 1/4 inches long at the bottom. The pour out spouts are a bit funky and when you dump liquid sometimes some of it spills along the sides of the basin and makes a small mess.
