I have a bad back, always gets sore after playing. The Roc N Soc made a huge difference, its a great throne and the added back rest completes the effect. Super comfortable.

I love this backrest gizmo. My back is not touching the thing when I'm in the normal playing position on the throne. But whenever I need/want to take a break, I just sit back a couple inches and relax my back and abs. For me, that means I can do some of the other musical tasks I need to do (writing, scoring, adjusting DAW/mixer stuff etc) and remain at the kit. Saves time not needing to move to another work station. More paradiddle time..:-)

I had been using the Roc-N-Soc throne in front of my keyboard, but following a spinal ligament strain, needed additional spinal support, so I purchased the backrest. It made a world of difference! Very easy to assemble -- does not impede the rotation of the throne. Very well made.

Installed it quickly, this does include the bracket and bolts to attach it to the bottom of my Roc N Soc seat, which already had the holes pre-drilled in it when I bought it. Took about 5 mins. After the first practice I found instant relief for my mid back with this thing. I should have got this years ago. Didn’t even have to get up and stretch between run throughs of the set. It’s adjustable both front to back and height wise and has a small amount of tilt to it. If you are considering getting this for sore back while playing, don’t even hesitate.

yep, it's a great accessory to the drum throne (I use it for guitar. Beautiful, high quality. Just be sure one of the three legs is behind you; otherwise, if you lean back, the stool it may tip over!

I've had a ROC N SOC throne for four years now, I don't remember sitting behind a drum kit before I latched onto one of these; the ROC-N-Soc genuinely increases your comfort and relaxation level behind a drum kit.Hands down it is the most comfortable throne I've ever sat on to play. I had a few other brands prior and these caused a gamut of spine and neural maladies from sore back to numbness in a leg to a simple yet chronic pain in the ass. Everything said and written about the Roc-N-Cos is true, it is the apogee of drum throne design and comfort. So how can you make it better? Add the backrest! Initiaily I noticed a new comfort level being able to lean against it from time to time during long sets. Oddly over the first few weeks I began to notice another more subtle improvement as well. I adjusted the backrest so it was just touching my lower spine. Apparently this made me more centered when I play, I know one of the cliches, "centered" but it is the only way I can describe the change. I am more relaxed in all four limbs, dynamics have gotten better, more nuanced playing and any kind of fatigue is non-existent.If you have a ROC-N-SOC I highly recommend the addition of the back rest, you'll be amazed.RegardsDonS
