Your cart is empty.Bacon Avocado Tree, Grafted - VERY COLD HARDY - Grafted Live Avocado Tree The plant offered is a Grafted Bacon Avocado Liner. Their flesh is pale yellow-green, and it is less oily than Hass avocados but equally as delicious, with a buttery and creamy texture. This plant is a late producing variety and will produce large amounts of excellent flavored Avocado with 6-12oz. fruits. The fruits are oval-shaped with smooth, thin skin that is dark green in color with faint speckles throughout. Will produce in about 1-2 years when larger. VERY COLD HARDY down to 23 degrees, great for the orchard or for the backyard grower. These produce almost year round with the harvest season being from October to February. The tree's themselves are CURRENTLY between 12"-30"+ tall depending on age and the orange growing liner is approx.: 9". These trees are Medium Upright in height depending on trimming or not. The Bacon avocado is considered a Mexican variety. Avocados are also identified as being either Type A or Type B, in reference to their flowering type. Production is thought to be best with cross-pollination between two cultivars, one of each flowering type, although the Type B Bacon avocado tree is self-fertile and does not require another variety in order to have a successful harvest. This was so easy. I have them growing in the house under a light, at first when I got them I had them outside but since I brought them inside that have shot up. Worth the money. I enjoy watching them grow.

I bought 2. These guys came as a 12 inch stick with 4 mature leaves. I bough them in early summer and kept them under a shade cloth over the heat of the Utah summer (grow zone 6.5). The leaves burned in direct intense summer sun, but did fine under a but of shade. I moved them into the grow tent for the winter and so far they're doing great. They'll be potted trees in my case. I have them in 3 gallon pots for now and they've been thriving in decent draining potting soil. I just moved them indoors, so I will have to monitor their moisture and drainage much more, but I think they'll keep thriving.Overall they've been a good purchase. The seller grafted them well and they took about a month to take off, but now they're really happy.
