I recently purchased this product living in Florida with the intention to use it for baiting sand fleas for pompano fishing. I thought it would be great to secure the fleas with a rubber band to the hook, hoping they would live longer, move more, and not fall off. Unfortunately, the design only allows for spreading the limbs half an inch apart, which is too small for the sand fleas to fit. For my specific purposes, it turned out to be futile.However, it's important to acknowledge that the tool likely performs well for its intended purpose. Previously, I've used similar tools for small live baits like maggots, which are notoriously tricky and time-consuming to hook. This tool allows for quickly and safely attaching a bunch of worms without harming them, which is incredibly efficient and effective for catching small fish.The product is made from plastic and brass, indicating good quality, and comes with a red cord (purpose unknown to me) and a set of small rubber bands.Overall, while it's a useless gadget for my specific need with sand fleas, it deserves five stars for its effectiveness and quality in its proper application.
