When I got this crash pad the first time, it was just two foam pads without the cover. After returning it, the second one came with the same two pad, and this time it had the cover. I thought that it was still missing a pad, but it's really just a bi-fold crash pad. It's fine, and the cover/carry bag is well made, but it's not very big, and not very firm so you'll definitely feel it if you fall on it.

This a pretty basic but very functional crash pad for gym bouldering. I don't think I'd use this one out in the actual rocks unless the drop is short, you'll likely feel any high spots if you really slammed on it. It comes packaged taken down and vacuum sealed to save space, but putting the pads in the bag was easy and the zippers are solid. It's 4', so big enough for typical gym bouldering. It also makes a comfortable nap pad should the mood strike you lol. It has a good price too.

DO NOT BUY. The zipper was falling apart, the foam was kinda dirty and yellowing but more importantly, this thing gives less support than my baby’s nugget couch cushions???If you want something to protect your falls, you definitely don’t want something that is falling apart at the seams like this garbage. I honestly have no idea why anyone else is rating it so high bc honestly it’s as expensive as a name brand crash pad but is way way way way way way lower quality. This is total garbage. It is not as supportive as my kid’s play couch or softzone foam blocks, it is no way near strong enough to be what you’d want to save your life if you fall off an overhang while bouldering.STAY AWAY.

One thing should be clear (in my opinion): this is a beginner's, or small climber's mat. The impact resistance is actually pretty darn good, but only at low height. The higher you are, the more you're going to feel this, and size is another issue. It's small enough to cause concern of hitting the target at greater heights. Another big thing to watch out for is making *sure* the clips and buckles aren't underneath the pad. You WILL feel them if they're in the seam, and from a fall, they'll hurt you (and probably break). Great for low climbs or kids, concerning for higher climbs for adults.

This is my second one, and it’s just as reliable as the first! The 4-inch high-density foam provides excellent protection, absorbing impact during falls without feeling too firm. The tri-fold design makes it super easy to carry, and the adjustable shoulder strap is a great touch for hands-free transport. The durable, weather-resistant fabric holds up well outdoors, even against rough terrain. I use it for both indoor and outdoor climbing, and it performs perfectly in both settings. The secure closure system keeps it compact for travel, and the foam expands fully after unpacking. Highly recommended for climbers of all levels!
