I've never had to replace one of these before, but the plastic lens of the one in my rented apartment just crumbled during a cat 4 hurricane (Harvey). Funny enough, this was the only damage my place took besides a little water.Anyway, this thing fit well, was easy to install and gives me an outstanding viewing angle outside my front door. I can even see if packages are left on my doormat. The daylight "cover" was an added bonus. Not that I imagine a lot of people have reverse peep-hole viewers out there (if they do, they've got WAY too much time on their hands).The view is crystal clear.Was perfect fit for me, even with my peephole being part of my door knocker.Great item...and I just realized I wrote a review for a peephole (aka, "door-viewer" if said with your pinky sticking out as you sip your tea). Sigh.

This was an easy install for my front door. Very good quality and easy to install. My front door is thick and this fit perfect.
