These Bates Magnetic Nut Driver Sets, 20 pcs, Metric, and SAE, are of high quality. The socket's edges are sharp and strong, and the 1/4" shaft fits nicely into my screw-gun adapter.Unfortunately, the case for the nut drivers was greasy on the outside. I'm not sure what happened. Maybe they use grease when making the nut drivers, maybe mine was used and returned, or maybe someone had filthy hands when packing the drivers. Who knows...So, the product itself (nut drivers) is of excellent quality and warrants a 5-star rating. However, the dirtiness of the "new" case that holds the nut drivers made me reduce the total rating to a 4-star.

I ordered this for the toolbox at my daughter's place. It's a nice set of nut drivers that comes in a very usable case. I don't think you can beat it for the price. The build quality seems pretty good, it holds on to nuts as it should, doesn't strip them out, and doesn't slip.

This set of nut drivers comes in a sturdy nylon/canvas zip bag. The drivers are held in place by strips of elastic material. They appear to be well made with crisp edges on the inside of the bits. These fit my Dewalt impact driver just fine. There are a couple very minor issues I have with the set. First, the title in the ad says that these are for impact drivers but nowhere else in the literature online or included in the packaging does it verify that these are impact-rated. I would feel more confident using them with an impact driver if that feature were more clearly described. The other minor quibble is their choice of color on the trim of the case. It’s light purple and it showed dirt or grime right out of the shrinkwrap. Over time this case is going to look disgusting since the light color shows dirt so well. (I DID say it was a minor quibble). After using these on a small project, I have to say I have mixed feelings about magnetized nut drivers. On one hand, they hold the nut securely but when I’m starting nuts, I like to do that by hand so I don’t cross-thread the nut on the bolt. So I don’t usually start nuts in the driver. The downside to having a magnet is that when removing the nut with a drill and driver, which I do frequently, the nut can be a pain to remove from the driver. I guess it’s a good thing that the nut isn’t going to fall on the floor, but I couldn’t shake the nut out of the driver. I ended up using some hemostats to pull out the nut. Despite my minor issues, I believe this is a fairly complete set of quality driver bits that come in a reasonably good case (although it’s going to get dirty fast). They fit the specified sized nuts accurately and the drivers fit in my impact driver just fine. This is a very good option if you want or prefer magnetized nut drivers.

Really like this set because it speeds up assembly of smaller nuts and bolts compared to the big socket style. The case it comes in is semi-rigid so easier to stack or keep organized. Comes with all the sizes advertised and good magnetic inserts. The bands are also taut so the bits don’t get disorganized in movement of the case. They’re black steel so it’s not rust resistant, but seems like it will last if taken care of. Would definitely get these again if I lost it, recommend it considering the quality and value.

I have been using nut drivers without magnets for many years and the most frustrating thing is to have the nut, bolt, or screw that you are trying to install, fall out of the driver and roll away, never-to-be-found-again. This Magnetic Nut Driver Set by Bates has solved this issue and those old nut drivers are now being retired.The SAE and Metric drivers come organized in a nice zippered, nylon case that uses elastic loops to hold the individual drivers securely in place. The drivers are a nice matte black color with the size legibly printed on them. The hex driving stud is the standard ¼ inch, allowing them for fit all of the tools that accept that size, such as my electric impact wrench. All of the sizes that I have tried, fit the nut, bolt, and screw perfectly. Not too tight, and not too loose.I have now driven at least one-hundred lags screws with the 10mm driver with the impact wrench and the drivers are heavy-duty with no signs of the socket splitting which many of the cheaper or non-impact rated drivers do. In fairness, I must mention that nowhere in the product description does the seller mention the use of these drivers with an impact wrench. With my experience in tools, these drivers are similar in construction to my impact-rated sockets, so I am taking that chance.I am very happy with these magnet nut drivers in their construction and performance. If you use this type of tool, even if it is just occasionally, these drivers with magnets will keep you from getting frustrated.
