Functions great until it got overheated and expanded too much. It does add weight to the phone but easy to install and was a good tight fit. Made the phone more durable and drop proof. Charges the phone first and then the battery. Easy to remove

Two main issues I’ve had with this within the first few days. The first is when I plug my phone to charge. I liked the idea that it would charge my phone and the case together but once my phone is fully charged and the case is still charging my phone will stop charging for a few minutes then “buzz” and charge some more for a few minutes. This repeats constantly so I decided at night when I charge my phone I would take it out of the case and charge them both separately even though that defeats the whole purpose of it being able to simultaneously charge. The second issue is that the case no longer charges. I followed the instructions and fully charged the case when I first got it then used it until it was almost dead. When I went to recharge the case it would never gain more than two lights. I was using an Apple charger and adapter like the instructions said. At this point I’m returning it and have purchased a battery bank that has charging cables attached. I’ve had charging cases in the past that were amazing but it seems they no longer make the ones I used to use. Very disappointed.

I enjoyed using it on a long trip. I could easily stay charged while out all day even while using power hungry apps. However, I dropped it while it was plugged in and the charge socket became so loose that I could not charge it anymore. I had one in China that lasted me for three years. This one was not as tough.

You won't regret the purchase. But be ready to replace it after about a year to a year a half. The battery in the case eventually wears out. My 2nd one is on the way and the one I have now I've had for almost 2 years and the case only charges +20-30%. But when it's new it can charge your phone from 0-100 almost 2x.

The most notable thing about this charger is that you plug it in to the top. This is super convenient everywhere but in my car holder as it took a longer cord and I have to make sure the cord isn't in the way. This can rapid charge my phone WHILE IN USE which is great. It has a good 2 charges in it, and unless I'm doing some really battery draining activities all day, will keep my phone going all day on a full battery starting with a full phone battery. It seems to get better life if you let your phone get really low (15-20% or less) before your charge up. The only thing I miss from my previous charger case is a USB slot that I could use to charge other things. But this has handled SO many drops without coming off like that one did, that I still prefer this one.Just an update. I've had my charger over a year now and it's still definitely got 2 full charges in it, has handled way too many drops, and I rarely use it while charging it now that I've gotten used to just how much battery is in there, so that's not really an issue. But if you do happen to want to keep it topped up while you're using it, having it at the top keeps it out of the way and keeps the cord from being bent as easily as a bottom charging port.BUY THIS CHARGE!Edit August 2021After nearly 2 years of daily use and much abuse, this charger has about had it. It will only give me one charge of 50-70%. It was an impressive run. I'm still thrilled with this purchase.

Update: after 2 weeks with this charger definitely is not what I was expecting, if my cellphone has 5% of battery when I turn on the charge only give me maximum of 40% charge, as I said before I've been using the same charge before (different brand that usually charged 100%). Also as I saw in another review just is turning on and off really often and can be very annoying if you cellphone is not in silence. I think I will try to buy another one with different brand because this brand definitely didn't work to me.I had with different brand the same charger for 2 years, the reason I bought this one (that is almost the same) was because the other one is not anymore available, apparently looked the same but not, I'm so disappointed because to charge my cell takes soo long with the cable also when I will use the charge of this charger only charge for short time, my other charge (that still works) usually takes 20 minutes to let my cellphone 100% charged, with this one its so much time and only let my cellphone charged with 60%, sometimes less. I feel little bit disappointed. I'm so glad my old charge still works broken outside but still charges 100%. Probably I will use both I guess but that is not what I was expecting to do.

I'm not even sure what to say besides BUY! BUY! BUY! This is a must have for anyone with a S9 phone. Why carry around an annoying battery pack with wires, when you can just buy a case that charges your phone. AND IT ACTUALLY CHARGES FAST! (When you're not opening everything) I don't like carrying chargers around b/c I'm always annoyed with wrapping and they usually tend to break faster. But after getting this, you don't have to carry one at all. I've charged my phone from 15% TWICE in the same day. (Was running alot of apps) Trust! This is actually worth it! (I'M NOT A PAID BOT THE TIME IS LITERALLY 12:23 PM 09/02/19) Thank you.
