I’ve had an aquatic turtle for 15+ years and recently moved my tank and bought a very long Aquarium Maintenance System, with a 50-ft hose! I had issues with storage of my 25-ft version so I was seeking a solution! I know it’s not the intended purpose but it works great!

This cord reel seems to work fine. Time will tell if it holds up. It doen't feel real sturdy with my 100ft extension cord on it

I go this to help me tidy up my extension cord and it did the trick, but the product does not seem to be sturdy enough for long term use. I am keeping it because in the end that is better than nothing but I am not sure if I'd go for it again.

Was sceptic at first but it works great, much better than having loose cords lying around. It’s light and compact, holds my 100ft cord easy.

Pros:-holds my 100' 15 gage extension cord nicely-large size-clever hand reel center-gaps to hold cord ends, no need to unwind fully each timeCons:-when using the reel feature the handle loosens and will come off-over 100 feet? Probably best to look elsewhereSummary:I was tired of my 100 foot cord taking up a lot of space in garage, even when bundled, and sought a low cost option to organize it. I came across this product and for the price I figured can't go wrong. This is a great product- clever reel design, holds heavy duty cord nicely- but there is a major flaw in the handle design. To work you hold the black center and use the small handle to rotate the product allowing the cord to "wind" around the center. Unfortunately the movement of rotating causes the screw to loosen and I've had the handle fall off multiple times to the point where I don't even bother with it anymore. It's a bit of an annoyance but for the price it's a decent product. Had the handle been more sturdy it would be perfect (as long as your cord is 100 feet or less) however as that's the main way to assist in an even rotation I can't give this more than 3 stars.

I have owned many different cord reels/holders over my life, and I will keep going back to this one. I own two of them and would by them again. This particular model holds 100 yards of 12/2 no problem. But what I like is the simple design. It takes a bit of coordination to wind in, but after a few times is becomes pretty easy, and unlike some cord holders you don't twist the cord on, thus no line twist. Don't be fooled by negative reviews, I have lots of experience with these things and this is a great product.

Does what it is supposed to do - except one thing. This is appropriate for 100 feet of extension cord, IMHO. My goal is to save time, quickly wrapping up extension cords, keeping them from becoming a tangled mess. I bought the "100 foot" reel for my 100 foot cords, but to get all 100 feet onto one, you need to carefully wind the cord onto the reel, like how the cord is when bought new and still in the package, all perfectly wound up with no air gaps. That takes time. If you wind them up quickly, my emphasis on "quickly," the cord crosses back and forth randomly, causing air gaps, and 100 feet of cord won't fit onto a 100 foot reel. So these reels made for "150" foot cords store the 100 foot cords QUICKLY. If you try to get 150 foot of cord onto these, well that takes time to be nice and neat about it, which kinda defeats the purpose of these, in my mind anyway. These work great for my 100 foot cords, to wind them up quickly. One other thing, if you leave these in the sun, the sun destroys the plastic in just a year or so, at least in the Southwest where I live, like most plastic. You'll get 10 years out of these if kept out of the sun when storing them. Great product, cheap, simple, does the job, I just recommend you buy oversize ones if wanting to wind up your cords QUICKLY..

I have used mine for a couple of years now. So far, it has held up pretty good. It is a decent reel that is easy to use. You just take one hand, grab the black plastic in the middle, and twist the knob with the other hand to wind the cord up. I would say, if you had a 50' cord pulled out and straight, you could wind it up, on to the reel, in probably, less then a minute. Quick and easy. I am not exactly sure just how long of a cord will fit on this, but at a standard 14 gauge, outdoor, 3 prong extension cord, you could easily fit 100' on to this. But I am not sure just how long of one will fit, at its longest, as I only have a 50' one on mine, and it only about fills it up to about half way of the side. Of course, the neater you fit it on there, the longer the cord you can fit on it too. If there was any complaints, it would only be with the feet on it. If you look closely, there are some little feet to stand this up on the outside of the reel. When winding it up, if you dont have the cord going straight on to it, and the cord hits those feet while winding it, it knocks the cord onto the outside of the reel, and you have to move the cord back inside it. That is really the only bad thing that I can say about it. It is cheap. It works, and it is well made. Not much more to say.

I've had a couple of these for many (over 10) years. I got a new 100 foot extension cord, so wanted a new reel to hold it. I have abused the heck out of these and they keep working just fine. The cable goes on straight, and comes off straight, so now twisting or kinking to worry about. Generally I start a bit away from my work area and then just crank the cord off the reel, spreading it around a bit so it won't tangle (layering on top is ok, as long as it's not a deep pile). Then I plug the end (this is the part I start reeling in with) into the socket. I then let the reel holder just hang. The biggest disadvantage is that I have found I have to completely unreal the cord or it is to heavy to plug in (will pull out). I have tried leaving a bit of a "pig tail" (about 1 foot of cord outside of the reel part) but that beats me up as I roll up the cord. Hold the reel with the black holder on the inside with one hand, then start turning the crank and rolling up your cord with the other and you are done in no time. There are some tabs along the outer edge in one area to make a flat place so you can stand it up on the floor if you wish. I think this is by far the least bulky, most sturdy and easiest to use extension cord solution.
