Didn’t need it. Castle nut wouldn’t go on with it installed. Was unnecessary usual seal works fine.

I've had the same boat trailer now over 45 years old so I've replaced bearings and hubs a few times. The Bearing Buddys are great but the flaw is that you can blow out the rear seals if you're not careful. These seals will fix that and in my opinion a must to pair with your Bearing Buddys. Just be careful to properly seat the bearings with the castle nut and look at the rear seal to be sure it is over the stainless steel ring. Happy trailering!

Nice product ----but does not fit EZ-lube hubs. Using the provided application chart is misleading, The chart lists the OD seal size and the inner wheel bearing number. This will not work with EZ---lube hubs the ID of the seal is larger even though the bearing is the correct number according to the selection chart. Again no complaints with the product just the selection chart.

Great product. They provide a stainless steel surface for the seal; specially good for boat trailers used in salt water. This time it was an economical fix for a chewed up seal surface on the spindle because of a blown bearing. Slips on easily. No modifications to the hub or bearings needed.

I had some pitted spindles on my boat trailer that were causing my seals to leak. I was replacing bearings every year. I was thinking the only solution would be to replace the axle. I saw the Spindle Seals and figured they were worth a try. They were easy to install and, in combination with a new set of bearing buddies, should keep the salt water out of my hubs.To install, they simply slide over the spindle all the way back. They provide a new smooth surface for the seal to ride on. An o-ring between the inner bearing and the spindle seal keeps water from seeping in behind the spindle seal. The new seal is larger than the original seal to fit over the spindle seal. I am not sure if the seal is available separately for when you check and repack bearings. With the bearing buddies and the spindle seal, I don't expect you should need to take the hubs off for annual inspections, so they should last a while. You may be able to get a bearing and seal shop to match up a seal that would work. It would be less trouble to just order another set of spindle seals.
