Great product, high quality and durableThis is the second rifle I’ve equipped with the comb riser. Excellent for scopes that require higher bases, puts your eye in direct line of the scope while still having a solid cheek plant

Bought for my Mossberg Maverick. It has a composite stock on it which is somewhat narrow. So I bought this to bulk it up a bit for a better fit. This goes on easy , just follow the instructions. I don't think tape was needed, but just to prevent the possibility that this would creep and rotate around on the stock, I did place a few small pieces of double-faced foam tape under it just to keep it in position long-term. Surprisingly enough the camo on this product looks pretty good and it actually made my inexpensive $200 shotgun look pretty cool. Now I'm ready to go get the geese!

This thing goes on tighter than a sweaty nun’s knickers. I followed the directions about turning it inside-out but still could not get it over the end of the buttstock, so I tossed them aside and did it my way. Here are a few suggestions to make it a little easier, but it’s still gonna be a catfight at the end. Stick with it though; you’ll be glad you did.1) You won’t want to do this twice, so before you do anything, to ensure you have the right pad for the correct comb height, use a couple pieces of blue painter’s tape and stick the pad onto the comb of the bare stock. Test the feel and eye relief. Keep testing each of the different pads til you find the right one for you.2) Remove the stock from the rifle, and put the sleeve on right-side out, like a sock, from the skinny fore-end. This is MUCH easier than what the manufacturer says to do.3) I used a flat metal strip about 10” long, 1/16” thick, and 3/8” wide to help manipulate the pad and keep it from coming out the back end as I pulled, pinched, and cussed the sleeve into position over it. This is where the catfight took place.4) Be careful not to pull or jam your fingers right where the stitching is sewn. I tore mine a bit, but patched it on the rubbery inside with a dab of clear Shoe Goo so it doesn’t show.5) Be patient.I hope this helps.

I really debated on how to rate the Beartooth comb riser. If you are only using one pad or two and follow the directions, installation is fairly easy. On the other hand, if you're trying to get a major rise impact using 3 pads you'll be in for a real battle. I converted a Remington Versamax shotgun that shot left at 40 yds due to manufacturing issues into an extreme turkey gun by installing an Sig tactical green dot meaning I needed about a 1 1/2' rise for proper cheek contact. Now as a power lifter with 7 state records, I'm not exactly a wimp, but it took me over an hour of extreme pulling to cover all three pads. I ended up removing some skin from my fingers but eventually got this thing fitted. I admit the result is excellent and now I have pin point accuracy with this shotgun and I am really excited to use it this fall. That said, Beartooth needs a better way to slide the neoprene back over the riser pads as the rubber backing of the sleeve making contact with the pads will not allow easy movement. I recommend a thin slippery nylon insert cut to the dimensions of the pads to allow the sleeve to slide easier. I'll give Beartooth credit for one thing for sure, this sleeve is really tough and well stitched. I literally used some significant pulling force to get this thing on and the neoprene and seams all held up. All this to say that with an improved method for installation over multiple pads, this sleeve would be a 5 star tool. It really has solved my issue for a high rise on the shotgun comb and now I have a true turkey killer shotgun.

I was dubious at first and ordered three others to try but after getting this one on my Tikka T3x it was clear I was never going to take it off. This comb covered all the bases for me so I ran with it and never looked back.Comfort - the neoprene feels good on my cheekAlignment - after cramming in the spacer, it was the PERFECT height adjustment.Ease of install - Not that easy but it was worth the effort.Performance - after a few long hikes it has never moved from where I originally set it. It’s steadfast.Noise - no Velcro, no ammo click, no swish while hiking/stalking. This comb was silent.Lefty - yea, this thing is perfect for me.It was a pain in the ass to get on (which I count as a good thing) to the rifle. Lining up the spacer perfectly took a little patience. I didnt want to remove my scope so I stretched the narrow end over the butt stock and “peeled” the wider end back over its self, down the shaft of the butt stock toward the trigger guard. That looked well except then it was inside out. Had to fiddle to make it right side in and then it was just a matter of aligning it and adding the spacer for my cheek. End product shoots just how I wanted, BIG THANKS to Beartooth for a solid product.

It doesn't seem to want to slip around on my synthetic stock, no stitching problems so far. Can't complain. It comes with a handful of different thickness foams, so it wasn't hard to get it right for me. It was a bit tight slipping it on at first, but not too terrible, and adding another foam after was easier.
