I took a chance ordering with mixed reviews and a recurring theme of a strong smell from the CO2 line. When I received the product the smell from the red CO2 line was overwhelming. I soaked the line in oxy-clean, and rinsed it, let it dry, and sit out for a week. The smell never went away. I decided to try it anyway with my latest brew and used it to carbonate my keg. The chemical smell of the CO2 line permeated my homebrew and has essentially ruined that batch. I would caution anybody not to use this red CO2 line.On a lesser note, the beer line, and the ball lock assembly parts work fine. I ended up buying a section of CO2 line from my local homebrew supply and used it to replace the offensive red smelly line in this kit.

The red gas line was a little flimsier than I was expecting, but other than that everything works as it should.

These hoses had a heavy rubber smell to them that got into the keg and the fridge. The smell did not go away after 2 weeks, so I disposed of them because I didn’t want to ruin another keg.

Despite reading the remarks, I chose to try them.The lines have such a repugnant PVC smell that I got a headache, and I couldn’t remove the smell from my hands.

Do not buy these lines, they are not right. If you love the smell of skunk they will serve you well. The smell does not come off from washing. Northern Brewer sells line kits slightly higher that don’t stink.

it smells and transfer that smell to the beer.i cleaned several times, the smell is going away i think but still there
