It took 3 weeks to get here and the shuttle was broken when it arrived. It came in a paper sleeve inside an Amazon bubble wrap mailer, no other protection. No cardboard insert or anything. Incredibly wasteful.The shuttle and heddle are made from a very thin (~1mm) layer of soft wood glued to a fingernail-soft core. If this was solid wood, maybe it would have survived the mail or I could at least carve a new end to hold the yarn. Right now I've got it glued and clamped to dry mostly out of principle... but there isn't enough material to sand out any remaining jagged bits. If the shuttle doesn't glue up perfectly flat, it's just going to break again. Is the manufacturer aware that shuttles have to go through tensioned warp? Why would they do this??It would not have cost much more to use solid wood. The shuttle and heddle are small. Strong plastic would have been better than this. I only bought this because I didn't want to have to make my own heddle!The heddle is probably usable on a mini loom for a while. Don't use this under high tension. I can bend it with my fingers.I'm worried about the outer wood layer on the heddle splitting and catching on the warp. Again, there isn't enough wood here to preemptively sand down sharp edges.This is NOT suitable material for weaving, especially not backstrap weaving.Do not waste your money.All that shipping time and energy was pure waste.I genuinely feel quite bad for buying this.

First time trying to using a heddle. If I can figure out how to use an inkle loom. Yeah, I know, if you’ve used it before, it’s really easy.

We ordered 5 of these in 3 separate orders.The product itself is quite good for the price.They are poorly packaged in such a way that the shuttle is easily broken in shipping.Returns are fast and easy, but we would rather have had the product arrive intact.
