Old school practicality while listening to Dodger games. Only reason why I bought it. I use it almost every day during baseball season. All the way to a WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP. Go Dodgers! I take it wherever I go, and the reception is great. AM/FM handheld radio. Antenna. Earphone jack. Wrist strap. Requires two AA batteries. I use rechargeables and they work just fine.

I use mine with earphones at sporting events so I can hear the 'play by play' action from my local radio station. It does the job perfectly and I also like that it uses long lasting commonly available AA batteries. It receives and sounds better than my similarly sized but overpriced Sony.

This was a replacement for the Sony radios I loved so much: the Sony ICF-S10MK2 and the later Sony ICF-P26. Both of those were spectacular and would still run for days on batteries which were down to 1V or even 0.9V. This Benss radio does not receive stations on AM as well as the Sonys did. It is harder to tune. It has circuitry for tuning which seems to lock in on the strongest signal only. I don't like having the switch and tuning and volume knobs on the same side. Biggest complaint is the way it eats through batteries and once they get down to anywhere near 1V it basically quits working. When will Sony resume making quality pocket radios?

The device appears visually appealing, possesses a user-friendly interface, and offers satisfactory functionality. However, upon attempting to insert my EBL rechargeable batteries, I encountered an issue where the battery door refused to close. Consequently, I discovered that my Energizer batteries provided a more suitable fit.

I use this when my iPhone battery dies at night. Very simple to use. Especially if you want to turn it on while half asleep. I purchased two — for my mom and thought using it at was such a good idea that I kept one for myself. Sometime the old technology simply does the job better.

Reception is great. Sound is exceptional, especially for a small transistor radio, like this. I like that the battery cover is permanently attached, but it's difficult to close with batteries installed. Price is worth a mention too.

I wanted a small, battery-powered radio like this for emergencies or power outages. I like that it's small, light, fits easily in one hand. It has one speaker and gets loud enough. The telescoping antenna is about 10" long when extended. Runs on two AA batteries which is great because I have access to free batteries this size and I stock up on them. Controls are really basic, but that's great. It's a radio, and that's all I need it to be. It has an analog tuning wheel, volume, and AM/FM/OFF switch. The price is very reasonable. No need to spend more on a name brand radio because this one is a good deal.Update: I had a big storm with near-tornado damage, and was without power for a week. This radio gave me something to do to pass the time when there was nothing else. I still think it's a great radio and I'm tempted to get a second one.

If the power goes out for a day (or longer) the tv, stereo & internet go out too. To get weather or other info, I knew I needed to get a radio that doesn't need to be plugged in or recharged by other things that need to be plugged in. I previously had a small wind-up radio, but the reception was awful & a whole lot of winding produced very little power. I have a small rechargeable power bank that can be charged with solar power if we get knocked off the grid, but in that situation the solar power bank would be reserved exclusively for charging my cell phone.I didn't buy another portable radio after that one broke (it didn't last very long). Then I saw this one on Amazon & decided it was "cheap" enough to take a chance on. I'm glad I did!I wasn't expecting much from this little radio, so I was really surprised when I heard the clear reception & quite good sound quality. I tried the AM setting (where the talk shows are) & heard clear voices without static or fade out. Then I tried the FM setting to hear what music would sound like coming from such a small radio. It sounded so good, I wanted to hear it with headphones & was amazed at the high quality of the sound. There's no reason to put it away until the power goes out. This radio is good enough for every day use (or if Mom wants to listen to her talk shows while taking a break out in the gazebo).I use the radio with a pair of lightweight, portable JVC headphones purchased on Amazon (JVC White Flat and Foldable Colorful Flats On Ear Headphone with 3.94 foot Gold Plated Phone Slim Plug HAS160W) & a protective & convenient neoprene carry case also purchased on Amazon (kwmobile Neoprene Phone Pouch Size XL - 6.7/6.8" - Universal Cell Sleeve Mobile Bag with Zipper, Wrist Strap - Mint).See the pics.
