Boost 141 standard is a smart way to benefit from the wider flange spacing of boost 148 but still utilize a simple QR. However, it leaves you with fewer budget hub/wheel choices. My wife had a Trek X-caliber with the stock trash Formula hub (same as Roscoe). It needed new bearings and it just wasn’t worth it to spend money serving it, so I decided to try rebuilding it with a new hub. I searched for all options and only came up with DT Swiss or Hope Pro 4 with additional end caps to make it work. I found this hub and not only did it come already set up with the QR and end caps, but it matched the hole spacing of the old Formula hub exactly (28 hole version though). The wheel built up perfectly using the old spokes. Very cost effective upgrade over the sloppy 15 POE previously to a 72 POE hub.My wife loves the upgrade and can feel the difference in quality. Too soon to tell about durability but she’s only like 125lbs. Don’t think she’ll have issues. If you can get a 28h version it will work with Treks boost 141 frames perfectly.

Many of the mid range bikes that have the 141qr boost use a cheap Formula hub, the Koozer hub is an exact replacement (same flange measurements, same spacing,etc..) the bearings are very easy to replace when needed and the engagement is on par with many high end hubs. Excellent hub for the money.

For hub standards, 141mm has to be the hardest to deal with. There are very few good or cheap options. This hub is the exception. The price wasn't bad, however I wish it was sold in a set with a 100mm front hub since this is just a 148mm hub with QR adapter ends. The hub is noisey but I love the sound. I've noticed some cassette bite in the HG body already so durabilty may be an issue but I will atempt to find a better body one it fails. For the price, absolutly worth it, especially if you're stuck with a 141mm rear hub.
