Be warned they are very bright. Almost to the point of offensive. They will light up the ground underneath your car very well and they do provide additional visibility when using the backup camera. There are no insulation instructions so just know that you have to push the existing light in towards the license plate and pull out on the area at the opposite end. There is a small clip that needs to pop out so it's simply push in and pull outward on the opposing end and they should come out. I did have to tap mine a little bit to loosen them up so they would come out. When putting these in go the opposite direction put the end closest to the license plate in first and push in very hard on the opposing end. You will hear the click as the tab seats in the car

Better than a single bulb replacement! Lights up plate and area behind vehicle making vehicle quite visible from rear! Very happy with results obtained!

They are plug and play. They work very well and are very bright which in turn helps the back-up camera.

I tried 2 sets thinking the plastic might be off but maybe it’s my car. Only one side fits well.

This is a way better alternative to replacing only the LED bulb. End result is super bright. The unfortunate thing as mentioned by other reviews is the installation and fitment is pretty tough.I had to disassemble the inside portion of the hatch in order to pull through the retaining tabs in order for the housing to lock into place. It became a very involved install but super happy how bright these LEDs are with a fresh new housing.Longevity is to be determined.

My 2019 Outback Premium came with the OEM LED upgrade, which for some dumb reason doesn't include the trunk dome light nor the puddle/step lights, so those were still incandescent. I originally bought retrofit LED's for the puddle/step lights, which are about twenty times brighter than the incandescent, but I broke the bulb holder of the one in the process and the retrofit wound up being loose. So either I spend about $7 to $10 for a replacement (plus tax and either shipping or gas to get from/back), or look for a replacement. For a few bucks more than one OEM replacement I could get two purpose-built LED units, so I did. They're twice as bright as the retrofits (or 40x-ish more than stock incandescents -- seriously, I tested all this on a bench power supply), which alone makes it WELL worth the purchase price, but it gets better! While these are fairly new, so no other reviews exist of this yet, the design replaces the whole assembly, which is obviously better as it can maximize the space the lens provides while simultaneously having room for a heat shield, making for the most effective AND efficient design possibile, so I was confident going in that it would be a proper solution. I was not wrong at all, whoever designed this unit did it right and knew what they were doing every step of the way.I would've expected a heatsink as most of the higher-end retrofits use heatsinks, but given it's bumping up against the ABS plastic of the door panel, the heat shield they went with instead is a better choice in design, and there's a very noticable air gap while barely touching the PCB (air is a good thermal insulator and the minimal contact area isn't going to override that). The control circuitry is on the back, I'm not about to tear it open to see exactly how good it is, but it's not your standard voltage-driven resistor setup that most retrofit bulbs on the market use. It appears to be a proper current-driven setup, which is the best way to handle LED's on cars with variable voltage, and will ensure longevity both from avoiding voltage spikes/dips as well as avoiding the heat from resistors. After all, LED's are current-driven devices, not voltage-driven, resistor setups bank on a stable voltage and Ohm's Law to get a stable current with careful resistor selection, but that obviously doesn't apply to vehicles that are expected to have variable voltage. And given the circuitry is on the backside, any heat from the control circuitry is shielded from the LED's themselves. The front side has a 3 x 6 grid of said LED's spaced out quite well along the lens to provide more consistent coverage without hotspots and avoid heat buildup from bunching them too close. For 20x brighter than stock, and 2x brighter than some rather bright retrofits -- which already tend to fire both down on the ground and up at the black plastic anyway -- I can see the ground EXTREMELY well. My driveway is gravel and the concrete in my garage is so unlevel where I park that it's a tripping hazard, so the brightness will ensure that myself and any passengers I drive don't trip while getting in and out of my Outback.Genuinely the ONLY thing I can knock is that fitment was a tad tight. I prefer it that way for the peace of mind in knowing it's not gonna pop out though, so that's still a plus from me, but might be a downside for someone else, so it's worth mentioning.EXTREMELY happy with this unit! I 3,000% recommend it, and it's super-well priced too. I just wish they made the interior dome light units too, would make unloading the trunk at night WAY easier. Would buy those in a heartbeat if they ever made them given how amazing these lights are!!!

Nice and bright! Good quality and fit perfectly. This is by far a one of a kind product with nothing else like it for the under door courtesy light on the subarus. Super easy to install too.
