Unfortunately, this kit came with only 1 of each color, but one color - black - was the majority of the canvas and I needed more. Luckily, I had extra from other kits!

This is a pretty design and I was very excited to work on this. Having a bit of an art background, I know how to work with paints (so they don't dry out) and purchased higher quality paint brushes. Even cheaper open stock brushes (from Michael's) are better than what comes in the kit. Despite this, the kit is still disappointing. The numbers are so tiny, it requires a magnifying glass to see the numbers. The accompanying color chart is ridiculously small and even enlarged via photo copy, you still need a magnifying glass. The kit should have a larger full size color image of the finished product. On top of all that the paints are not very pigmented and you need to paint over an area multiple times to get it opaque. Whether you have a craft / art background or a beginner, I really cannot recommend this kit. There has to be better quality out there.

I love paint-by-numbers art work. It is so much fun to do. The colors are bright and the patterns are easy to follow. This paint-by-numbers kit makes a lovely gift for anyone who loves butterflies.
