This may only do one job, but it does it perfectly! If you own electric guitars (or basses) you know how common it is for input acks to go loose - this solves the problem without having to remove the jack housing from the guitar.Seriously - if you own guitars you need this :)

Purchased to tighten up the nut on my Epiphone 335 jack output socket which is a nightmare. Did a great job and easy to use. Highly recommended

This tool is easy to use. It seems like the jacks on my guitars are constantly coming loose. You can't tighten the jacks with your fingers because you could disconnect the wires inside the guitar. A guitar tech recommended this tool and it is great for fixing the jacks.

This is literally the worst musical product I’ve ever ordered as a luthier. The quality of the item is very cheap plastic that is soft and mailable. Luckily I do this for a living, but for the average guitarist there are no instructions for use. The item doesn’t even resemble the photo it’s milky grey not black as shown. I bring that up as I believe what’s shown is a better made item and they ship cheap ones that don’t add up. The performance on use is horrible. The plunger alone damn near ripped out the entire jack as in the whole thing when you try to remove the internal plunger. I am returning this to Amazon as it would not be something even an amateur should try as it will just mess their instrument up causing more repairs such as severed cable input wiring. I cannot express the dissatisfaction I have with this item, the price isn’t the issue it’s the pretense of what they are advertising versus what you’re going to receive.

Every time the input jack on your electric guitar comes loose, you have to tighten it again, right? The problem is, this twists the wires every time you do that, and eventually makes them come loose. And repairing it is going to be expensive. With this device, which works with most recessed or surface jacks, you just insert it in, and it holds the jack in place while you tighten everything up. No loosened or torn wires, no repair bill, and you can do it in only a few seconds. Its simply genius! I would never be without mine, and I wholeheartedly recommend it as a necessary tool.Keep this in your tool kit, or guitar case. Everyone needs this handy, money-saving piece of equipment.Well worth the price; I've used it a hundreds of times. Save yourself some cash, and heartache - and get this!

OK, but just OK. Still looking for a good solution for tightening the 1/4" jack.

Bought this for a Squier jazz bass. It worked and did what it's supposed to do. I can see that if you went hard you'd probably have the thing slip and maybe it would round the edges off the tool, but you shouldn't really be going that hard anyways, and I'd rather see the plastic tool take it than the metal nut on the guitar. Mine didn't by the way. I took it slow and careful and it worked fine. I'm happy I have it.

The Bullet Guitar Jack Tightener works great! The only thing that concerns me is that it appears to be entirely made of some sort of plastic or probably something somewhat stronger, but I'm concerned it will wear out quickly where the Tightener meets the Guitar Jack Nut. That said, I do have 1 metric and 1 standard size Bullet Guitar Jack Tightener that are made of the same material, but have Brass ends where they go over the Guitar Jack Nut! those may last a bit longer! Still, the all plastic Tightener is set deeper where the Tightener meets the nut, so they can tighten the Kiesel Guitar Jacks on my headless Kiesel's which have a longer threaded part that stick farther above the nut than jacks on my other guitars. The Bullet tighteners with the Brass ends aren't deep enough to work with the Kiesels.

This is likely fine for a few tightens, but is definitely not what you want to look for if you need to tighten the jack a lot. For $15, it's a little expensive for starting to wear on the first use, however it is a specialty tool. It did manage to get my nut off, which I was very happy with, but it started to strip. Go with the brass top if you want something that will last a little longer. The pictures are purposely made to make it look as if it was made out of metal, but it's dull black plastic.
