All other reviews all mentioned good points which I also agreed with. I don't want to repeat so here are some points that are better to know:1. Plastic housing on the key lock side is loose, when push to lock, the housing might come out and tongue can not be fully inserted.2. key has to be in the open position to insert the lock tongue.3. be careful with the code reset button. very easy to turn, you might change the code without notice when you open the lock with code in a hurry.but overall, its still a good quality price item for average use.

There are pros and cons to this bike chain lock that I'll explore in this review. One thing to keep in mind that a motivated thief will defeat any lock if given the time and the right equipment. Depending on your circumstances, you may want to invest in an additional lock, or a lock with a higher security rating. To that point, there is no security rating given for this lock, so I would only assume that it's not incredibly secure if someone tries to cut through it.I generally love combination locks for bike locks, because you don't have to worry about a key, and they can be easy to use in most circumstances. However, if you've got the lock securing a bike outdoors, the elements can mess with the combination dial (i.e. ice, rust, etc.).This lock also includes a set of keys, so you have two ways of opening it. I'm not sure if this makes it less secure, but the redundancy can come in handy. The fabric covering over the chains makes it safer on your bike's paint. The lock housing has a lot of plastic, and looks like it could be a target for attack. The chain is fairly thin at 6 mm, but this gives a good balance between weight and light-duty security. Bolt cutters would easily get through this chain. At just over 3 feet long, you get plenty of length to get this through your wheel and frame, while securing it to an immovable object.Considering the lower safety rating (i.e. no rating), I think $29.99 is asking for too much. As a comparison, for $20 more you can get a bronze rated name brand chain lock with thicker links and included insurance.

Years ago, my bike was stolen, and the police found it had been vandalized. While a lock is better than no lock at all, the quality of a lock matters. This is a hefty lock, and for a bike thief who is carrying a wire/cable cutter in their pocket, they are likely to move on to another target. I like how this lock can be used with a key or combination. The small card accompanying the lock shows you how to set the combination. The code set/lock dial is a thin plastic. While setting the combination was quick and easy, I had problems using the combination. I have not experienced any problems opening the lock with the combination, it is putting the lock back together and turning the number dials to lock it that has been a problem.Because we still have over 4 feet of snow on our property, I have not used my bike to get around town, and my testing of the combo is about 8 to 10 tries. Most often, when I put the lock back together, the dials turn easily to lock. However, there have been two times when the dials were locked in place and I could not secure the lock. To get the dials to move, I had to move the plastic dial to the set combo position as if I were setting a new code, and then wiggle the dials a bit (to an adjacent number and back) as if I was setting the code, and then relock the code. I could not find which dial was the problem, so it is probably just as fast to wiggle them all. This seemed to work for a few more open and closes. My three star review considers the price, theft deterence and quality. I deducted two stars for the issues with the combination code. I have not experienced any problems with the key lock.

For what it's worth, this lock is excellent and would provide more than enough protection to secure your average bikes. I needed a new bike lock for my daughter's bike and hence I got this lock. I'm not overly concern with getting my kids bike stolen as it's usually the e bike or branded name bikes they go after so don't think I needed any more expensive lock. The lock combo is nice and large making it easy to put the combo. I assisted my daughter to start up the initial password which was a breeze. Also i settrd up the PW for her as she might forget. In term of the quality of the lock, although to me it's very solid and beautiful, I must say the protection being offered by this lock is most likely just standard. If a theirf wanted to open this lock it will probably takes them a few seconds to open them. However, for my use case, this lock should be more than enough. It's quite heavy duty but light enough to be wrapped around the bike frame. The fabric clothing looks nice and also prevent it from scratching the bikes paint. For the price and the appeal I will give 4 out of 5 stars! However if you really need some high security lock I should suggest to look elsewhere.

When it comes to bike security, the best advice is always “don’t make it easy for thieves.” While no lock is foolproof, the TAEGIQI Bike Chain Lock does an excellent job of making your bike a less appealing target. There’s a lot to like about this lock, but I’ll start with a realistic perspective: This chain can absolutely be cut with a good pair of bolt cutters. This is true of almost any bike chain lock, so don’t view this as an impenetrable barrier but as a deterrent. If a thief is determined, they’ll find a way, but the goal is to make your bike more difficult to steal than the next one, and this lock does just that. With that in mind, let's talk about everything else that makes this chain lock great. One of my favorite features is the five-digit resettable combination, which offers a staggering 100,000 possible combinations. This is a significant improvement over the standard 4-digit combos found on most locks, and it offers an added layer of security. Setting the combination is easy, and once you've set it, you don’t need to worry about carrying around an extra key. If you happen to forget the combination (which is a real possibility), the lock comes with two backup keys. This gives you peace of mind, knowing that you won’t be stuck scrambling if you forget your code. The chain itself is coated with a nylon fabric sleeve, which not only helps prevent scratches on your bike frame but also adds a bit of durability to the lock. It’s long enough to secure both the frame and both tires of your bike, which is especially important if you're locking it in a public area. It’s a practical length for many other uses, too. For instance, I’ve found it useful for securing my scooter or even locking up gates or doors when needed. It’s versatile and serves more than just one purpose, which I appreciate.Another thing I really like about this lock is how easy it is to use. The tumblers turn smoothly without requiring a lot of force, which makes locking and unlocking the bike a quick and effortless task. I’ve used locks before that require more muscle, which can get frustrating, especially if you’re in a hurry. This one is straightforward and doesn’t cause any hassle. It’s also not overly heavy, so it’s easy to carry around when I’m riding or when I’m out and about.I’ve also had positive experiences with the lock in terms of durability. After several weeks of use, it’s holding up well. The nylon casing seems to resist wear and tear, and the combination mechanism is still working as smoothly as it did when I first set it. Of course, time will tell how it performs long-term, but so far, it’s been reliable. While I do wish it were made from a more cut-resistant material, I recognize that this lock is meant more as a deterrent than a high-security solution. It’s perfect for everyday use when you need to secure your bike in a relatively low-risk environment or when you’re in a hurry but want a solid deterrent. It’s also ideal for short-term locking situations where you don’t need the most robust security but still want something more secure than a basic lock.Overall, I’m happy with the TAEGIQI Bike Chain Lock. It provides a good balance of affordability, ease of use, and security features for the price. While it won’t stop a determined thief with the right tools, it makes your bike a harder target and offers enough deterrent for most everyday situations. Four stars for offering solid, practical security without breaking the bank.

The thought that went into this design is fantastic, especially for under $20. The cloth sleeve is my favorite feature. Not only does it protect the paint on the bike, it also makes it harder for the chain to rust / get tangled. It’s thick, too, not flimsy. It doesn’t seem like it’ll get thin and tear from sun or weather abuse. The option to lock it either through keys or code is great, especially since I lost the keys on the second day.If anything, this lock looks intimidating and time-consuming to break.

I love the 2 unlocking methods on this bike chain. No more having to pick one lock type over the other. I like having the speed and convenience of the quick unlock that a key provides, but I also like having the security of mind to unlock with a combination if I don't happen to have the key with me. I was looking for a bike lock and couldn't decide which unlock option I preferred since they both have their advantages. Then I saw this lock and knew it was the answer I was looking for. No more having to pick one lock type over the other since this lock has both. Genius! The chain is nicely covered with fabric to protect the bike's paint, and the chain has a 6mm thickness and is made from manganese steel. This should be sufficient for my modest ebike's protection needs. I usually do errands and don't leave the bike for very long, so this will act as sufficient deterrent for someone trying to grab something quickly. If my bike had a very expensive value, I might look at supplementing with a secondary lock to make it even more of a challenge for would-be thieves. This lock will do a great job of protecting from the typical grab-and-go situations where someone might see an unlocked bike and think it is too tempting of an opportunity to pass-up. But I suspect that in many of those situations, the bike owner didn't take the time to lock their bike; perhaps because some of the more complicated locks makes them inconvenient to use.It is important to find a lock that is quick for the bike owner to use, yet too big of a challenge for would-be thieves to try to steal, and this robust looking lock is a great choice. Using the key, it is quick for the bike owner to lock and unlock, but also has the combination option when the key isn't on hand, and its sturdy construction is enough to discourage those looking for an easy grab-and-go target.

Great lock with a covered chain to prevent scratching the bike. The option to use a combination makes this lock versatile and useful. I wish the chain were a bit longer, but that is not a deal breaker. Overall this is a quality lock, offering security for your bike when you are out and about.

Makes for a convenient theft deterrent however long term security I'm not so sure. The hardened chain covered by fabric is definitely the best feature. I love how convenient having both a key and combination as an option. The key is convenient for unlocking and locking your item quickly. When you are out and about and don't wish to carry around a key in your pocket, the combination lock is great. The combination was quick and easy to set. I do have a few reservations about how strong the lock part is. It's covered in plastic that I think would not stand up to much abuse. The key portion only has a small cam that is turned by the key and locks on to the the pin at the end of the chain. The combination side seems a little more secure as the pin is serrated like a key in which the tumblers on the combination keys lock on to the pin or let it slide out. I'm primarily using this to secure my mountain bike in the back of my truck.

This is a nice combo/keys lock for bikes and scooters, however I do have to question the use of plastic as the housing material for the lock. Yes, it does make it a bit lighter, but do you want a lock to be lighter, or heavy and solid? I am not sure if this affects the durability and reliability of the lock, as I would have to try and smash the lock to see how sturdy it really is. I'm not doing that. I got this lock to lock up 2 scooters if and when I need to lock them up outside a business for a short period of time. I think this lock will suffice. But would I use this lock in a dangerous neighborhood overnight? Probably not. But again, without testing that theory, it could be fine. I'd otherwise give it 5 stars. I do like that it can be accessed by both a combo and a key.

The quality of this lock is pretty nice. The sheath around the chain keeps it from scratching the bike. The lock can be removed from both sides, one with a key and the other side with a combination. Combination was very easy to set. It has a piece on the side that seems like it should slide into some kind of holder for when it is not in use, however there was no other parts in the box that it could attach to. It could also be a bit longer. The shorter length limits the ways or places you can lock the bike up.

I LOVE this lock! I have e-bikes so want to have more confidence in my bike lock than I'd care about for cheaper bikes. This is very heavy duty and probably just about as unbreakable as you can get. I love that there are keys and a combo lock. I always get nervous about what would happen if I lock the bike and then lose the key (which I almost did when I ran a half marathon after riding to the start!). The combo lock is easy to set. Also the key lock won't close unless you have the key in it, making it less likely you will accidentally lock it without a key. This is heavy, and probably too short to lock two bikes at the same time to a rack (although you can probably lock two bikes together). But these are not bad things with such a high quality lock. I just toss it in my bike bag while I ride.
