I'm not sure how I feel about how the bike looks now. It's....odd. Time will tell how that works out, but the riding position is definitely less hunched over. I got the shortest (5.9") one and I can't imagine needing more than that. A little goes a long way in these circumstances, so give it a good think about how much height you really need.Install took 5-10 minutes and I'd never really fiddled with the handlebars before. A decent set of hex wrenches should be all you need. Oh, and that reminds me of another reason not to go bigger: any more and you're running a strong risk of needing to futz with the brake/shifter cables and that'll take you a lot longer than 10 minutes, I promise.Materials are good; nothing cheap or plasticky, so I hope this'll hold up as well as the rest of the bike. It's currently snowing so I'm not going to take it for a test spin any time soon. If the steering or handling feel turn out to be markedly different I'll come back and tell the world. I just know y'all will be waiting with baited breath :)

As I'm getting older, I ride for exercise and enjoyment, but I'm not concerned about top speed anymore. Bending over the handlebar was causing a sore neck and numbness in my hands, so I was looking for a way to raise the handlebar to a more comfortable height. I picked the shortest stem extender because I didn't want to make an extreme change or run into problems with cables and brake lines. The extender fits well and blends in well with the rest of the textured black hardware on my mountain bike. The bike looks a bit silly with the high bar, but I'm looking forward to a more comfortable ride when the weather warms up.

I’ve ridden and raced a lot over the past 20 years…road bikes, mountain bikes, and triathlon. Earlier this year I got a fat tire bike to do some winter ultras (80+ miles). Over the course of my training, I found my hands were tingling and going numb frequently. I tried bar tape, foam grips, ergonomic grips, moving my seat forward, adding aero bars to give another hand-position option, etc. Nothing really worked that well, still had the same issue of fighting numbness in my hands.Thought I’d give this a try. I got the 5” version and am glad I did, as I didn’t have to alter any brake or shifting cables on my bike. I had just enough cable slack to get the bars reinstalled quickly, and after you get your bars up over the top then slide back down into position, there was plenty of slack for turning the handle bars all the way to the right and left. So no issues there.Installation took about 10 minutes, taking my time. There were no issues. I took it for a 20 mile shake-out ride this morning to see how it would do and was not disappointed. Granted, it’s a little weird for me riding a lot more upright, but I’m not really going for speed so much as comfort now. Since the extension angles back, I did end up moving my seat back an inch. There was no movement of the extension during the ride. All looks good and no hand issues!Happy with this so far. Will see how it holds up over the next several hundred miles, but based on the construction, I think it’s going to wear just fine.

my ebike has a short stem and I was looking for a riser. I did a test fit but forgot to take pictures. i had to send in the enike for repairs as the batteries no longer charge and its under warranty.I like the all black finish, it's made out of hardened aluminum, and mil spec. this extension has multiple height adjustments for your preference. it has a premium and polished finish. excellent riser!

I own a Schwinn GTX 2 hybrid with several thousand miles on it. The bent over/leaning forward ride position was fine in my younger days but has become uncomfortable in recent years. I began having issues of the hand tingles and numbness, along with discomfort in my wrist, neck and shoulders. These issues made my rides a chore and not as pleasant as they once were. My thoughts were leaning toward the purchase of a different more upright style of bike although I hated the thought of getting rid of my old reliable ride. As a last-ditch effort, I thought I would try a fork extender…when I came across this handlebar riser kit.The TIKBRO extender/riser kit arrived just as described. Looks nice/well-made and a good value. But Huston…we have a problem. I failed to consider when ordering something like this that there has to be enough slack in your brake, gearshift and (in my case) speedometer/odometer cables to get the assembly into position. In my case, I was I was not able to use the stem adapter, but I was able to use a few of the riser rings that came with the kit. I was only able to raise my handlebars a couple of inches but the short ride I did take after the change felt more comfortable. A ride of greater duration and distance will be the ultimate test. The handlebar extension is easy to install…even though I was unable to use the full extension kit. If you’ve never taken apart a handlebar set, you’ll want to take care as the fork will become loose and will want to fall out of the frame. If you’re not sure find a knowledgeable helper.

This is a simple solution to get more height for your handlebars. It looks good and feels heavy duty enough that it will last. Installation is quick. There's two screws you disconnect the handlebars, then you screw this one on and screw your handlebars to this one. It took less than ten minutes. I particularly liked how simple it is, it doesn't really add a bunch of complexity to the bike, it was only what's needed, including spacers so you can fine tune the height if needed.

My wife has a trek bike and was complaining that her lower back was hurting when she was having to lean forward when biking. After some research, I saw that they have bike extenders for the handlebars. I installed this on my wife’s bike and it was easy to install. It raises up the handlebars to keep your body more in line with your lower body, which gives you more of a straight back.
