This thing is well worth the money. Ive had it for about 3 months, its been rained on and waxed, and it still runs like a charm. I have it wired up to my 2001 Honda Shadow 750 ACE and it adds such a classy look to it, and doesnt take up much space. All this talk of the needle bouncing around? Sure. But when you get up to speed it goes away. At lower revs, about 1-1.5k, it will bounce, but not ridiculously by much. Anywho, it comes with a basic instruction paper on how it should be wired up, so it was really easy once i had gotten my service manual for the bike. I got the backlight wired up to my distributor as well, so that it comes on and off with the kill switch. Which i find useful as a visual way to tell if i accidentally left the killswitch on lol. With that, though, the light does flicker on and off with the revs. Once you get over 2k it stops flickering, though. But yeah, its really accurate. I love the thing. I definitely reccomend it if you are electrically savvy. If not, id have someone else do it for you cuz you can definitely screw up your wiring if you do it wrong. Im certified in electronics, so it was easy for me, which is why i gave it 5 stars. It does have a pretty bright blue backlight that is not replaceable. Which, i guess is a plus to keep it waterproof, but also a bummer cuz if it dies, you need a whole new tach.*I will edit a photo in when the sun comes out and ill delete this comment*

I bought this tach because it has the features I want and the overall rating was better than most. I've had it on my bike for 6 weeks (around 1500 miles), and it already needs replaced.First, I absolutely Had to buy a dmer, because I ride a lot at night and in rural areas and the backlight is almost blinding (wired to my guage cluster backlight power). That done, it went about 1000 miles before the needle started jumping. Now it does it almost constantly, with a majority of that time completely pegged.Disappointed.

Kinda jumpy and would have been nice to have gotten a bar clamp with it to mount it on, but over all a good product.

I am only giving it three stars for now because the included instructions are useless unless you know wiring well. Their ad stated that a Chrome-plated universal mounting bracket was included. The only bracket in the box is the one that is permanently attached to the tach. You need a "Second" mounting bracket to attach it to the handlebars. Change the wording in your ad or include the handlebar mounting hardware.

I found the perfect place to put it on my Honda Areo. Easy Install. I just kinda wish the lighting was amber to match the stock speedo. It was what the bike was missing, perfect size. Shipping and ordering was a snap. Thanks

This is a nice inexpensive tach.I installed this on my 2005 Honda Shadow Sabre. It matches my speedometer nicely.Pretty easy to install once you find all your wiring. One issue I have is the back lighting. It's insanely bright. When you ride at night it will kill your night vision. I just cut the yellow wire. Problem solved. The numbers are black on white, so it's easy to see anyway.I've done a lot of riding in the rain as well, and so far the water has not affected it.I've had it for a year (about 6000 miles)

This is a nice looking good quality tac. It works great with no annoying jittery fluctuations you can have with some other tacs. It is fairly easy to wire although it is good to have wiring diagram for your specific bike to make it easier to find light on wire. Take your time and make good connections. The chrome mounting plate they include gives you just under 3/4" from side of tac to the center of the single mount hole. You will probably need an accessory mount to go around the handlebar so you can bolt through mount hole and accessory clamp. That will give you a lot more options and locations to mount it.
