I have only ever used a popular Japanese brand hand grinder, but thought it was time for an upgrade. This one is a really pretty green and I like how the knob is wood. For the aesthetics though, I don’t like the writing on the actual grinder, as you can see it’s not even spelled correctly, and the numbers on the side for the size grind are huge and not pretty either.Pros- grinds well and consistently and much easier to grind than my previous hand grinder- you can control the grind size from the outside, and know what setting you’re on- comes with a protective case and brush- there’s a rubber ring on the bottom so it doesn’t slide on the counter- beautiful color and the etching on the side makes it easy to gripCons- only 1 cup worth of beans fits at a time- there’s a lot of static in the bottom reservoir and grinder part - every time I use it I have to use the brush to clear away the clinging coffee bits- the aesthetics are taken away from by the letteringOverall, I think this works great and feels high quality.

I have used a number of these small travel coffee grinders and they all suffer from two things. First, of course, they're just small, but then again, you knew that going in. Second, they tend to be janky, flimsy little things with lots of parts that just don't feel solid in the hand or feel like they're not going to last very long. I am very happy to report, and frankly a little surprised, that this Bincoo coffee grinder might just be as close to perfect as you can get.Ok, let's move past the first obvious thing, it's small. It's for travel, camping, overlanding (funny that the autocorrect changes 'overlanding' to 'overloading'...not so far from the truth). It can grind about 1/2 oz or 15g of beans at a time, as I try to show in the photos. That's not much more than a handful, probably around 1 cup of coffee.Taking it out of the box, I'm immediately struck by the build quality; it feels like a well-crafted, dense piece of machinery. It feels like a quality item. I know that's very nebulous and subjective, but it truly has the feel of a legitimate product. The handle, usually the weakest part, feels very robust, strong. It does not detach, which is fantastic, because the fewer pieces, the better. But it does fold down, as seen in the photos. That's perfect for travel, I love this particular feature. It has a wooden hand knob that gives serious grip to the handle. Again, feels and looks like quality. The handle is also long enough that twisting it around and around does not feel like a forced motion, it revolves around smoothly. The grinder has a wide range of grind coarseness that can be set. The photos show the finest at '1' and the coarsest at about '10.5' (if it only went up to eleven, it would be perfect, LOL!). It is difficult to show the grind of the coffee in photos, but the level 1 is quite fine, not a powder, but a very fine grind.Cleaning the grinder, I was expecting my elation to be squashed, because all of these little things are not easy to clean, but holy smokes was I wrong. The coffee grounds cleaned off the grinder and bottom collection cup with just a few taps. I think the aluminum seems to reduce the amount of natural static that usually keeps the grounds stuck inside. I cleaned it with ease, and didn't even use the included brush. That's impressive. It comes with a soft case, which, I don't know why they include these things, I throw them in the garbage, but perhaps some people like to keep it in its nice box for travel. That's fine. Finally, as I was thinking about what could be improved, I thought, well, I wish it had some non-slip rubber on the bottom so...holy smokes it does have a rubber ring on the bottom. Dang. They win. What else? Well, I'm not in love with the color, but it's an outdoor, army, camping green, so that's fine. But that's about all the criticism I can honestly give. Easy five stars, this is going into my camping kit. Love it.

Wow! I immediately thought that when I opened the padded case and took out this incredible coffee grinder. It feels like a finely calibrated piece of machinery. I love quality tools, from my Japanese steel dog grooming shears to my cobalt drill bits, I truly appreciate good tools. This grinder is top-of-the-line, it just has that look and feel of quality. It feels bulletproof. It looks beautiful. I drink coffee every day, but I usually buy it ground. Yeah, it's partially me being lazy, and also not wanting to use the noisy electric grinder I have to blow up my zen alpha brain wave state first thing in the morning. I use a Clever Dripper coffee brewer with a #4 filter. I went and bought some Peet's Dark Roast whole beans to test this grinder. The barrel is knurled, so it feels very secure to grip with no chance of slipping. The handle locks securely in place, and the wood knob is smooth and comfortable in your hand. I set it on 5, a medium setting. I added a good amount of beans. Then I got to the fun part, the cranking. I could feel the beans being effortlessly ground by the stainless steel burr. Wow, I thought again. I really like this. I could see this being part of my morning zen routine. I've owned a gym for over 30 years, and I train every day, so I'm an extremely physical person. I love doing all things manually; there is just a visceral satisfaction you get that you can't get from pressing a button or barking an order at Alexa. It took about 70 or so cranks, and I could feel when the beans were all ground. It was a beautiful ritual, and my coffee was the best I've had in a very long time. Maybe ever. I'm a purist and drink it black, so I like good coffee. This preparation of my coffee was spiritual. I'm hooked; I have Coffee Superiority Syndrome! ☕️ 😁
