I've put out nesting materials for years with little success of birds using them. These took 2 weeks for birds to find but now they are gathering nesting material be the beakful. Such fun o watch!

The description claims that the cage is rust-resistant but it rusted badly after the very first rain.

The wire holder is sweet and the hooks are substantial. The alpaca fur seems soft and clean.

I hung this up in the early morning, just 2-3 hours later I saw a Male finch grabbing some fluff and heading to a tree to help his partner build their nest.I ordered BLACK, but was sent 1 black and one gold. I cannot stand gold.

At first I thought that I had received a a mismatched product since the one was black and gold instead of all gold, but I realized that it matched the listing photo so that is just how they come.Based off another reviewer, I decided to put the one with gold under the roof awning so that it didn't get rained on. I have really active hummingbird feeders but in the two weeks I've had it up we've only seen one non-hummingbird take from it, but they may have already had their nests build.The alpaca wool reminds me of my dogs fur so I will be able to refill it if it ever runs out ahaha. I am mildly concerned about the ethics and the longevity of t his product, but it does serve its purpose in our backyard bird oasis!
