This flour Sifter is excellent in a great way to upgrade your baking skills. If you ever make cakes, they’re just way too dense and heavy and you don’t know why it could be because you need to sit your flower and that is what I started doing and I’ve gotten amazing results. This flower sifter is just your standard sifter, but it’s a little bit smaller which is not bad especially if you’re a person that does not bake a lot. It’s very easy to use and gives your flour a nice powdery effect once you’re done.

This is a nifty tool. Easy to hold like a drinking glass. The netting is finer than a regular decorating shaker, so can be used to sift flour, etc, and still can be used as a sugar sprinkler too. Due to it's size it would need to be refilled during the process for large amounts of flour, but I don't mind because it's just easier to handle than a large sifter, especially for my senior hands. I'm happy I got it.

I was looking for a sifter with a 40-mesh screen other than the shake back & forth type. I looked at several of the hand crank or hand squeeze type, some which indicated "fine mesh", but no others said just how "fine" it was. This does appear to be 40-mesh, and does the job, although the 3" screen area (inner dimension) is small. I wish it were larger, and I think a hand-crank type would be easier. I use it to sift some of the bran out of my home-milled flour, and fortunately don't usually do a lot of sifting all at once.UPDATE: After using this a few more times with different flours, I'm demoting this to 2-stars from the original 4. It is small and doesn't do very much very fast. Also, you need to be tall to use this comfortably, which I am not. To hold the bottom section with one hand over a bowl, the top hand holding the upper part ends up being quite high with the elbow in the air. Not comfortable for a short person like myself. It would be okay for sifting something like a small amount of powdered sugar over a cake. It's really kind of worthless to me.
