I ordered this replacement block heater power cord for my 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 6.6L truck to replace the original cord which was starting to crack at the plug end. This looks very well made and has a heat shield built in to it near the exhaust and block. That would be the white portion on the cord. The actual cord is a nice quality flexible rubber cord. The plug is great being heavy duty molded end. The cap is ok but could be better. Once you pull the cap off it is hard to get it to stay back on the plug since it it only the outside edge of the cap that has to go over the plug and hold it on. I wish they had the other style cap which uses the blades to slide into the cap and hold it on. This cap has a hollow open inside and the cap has to go completely over the plug end. I will probably not use the cap much due to the fact it is hard to get it to stay on. The cord I would order again and recommend to others but would hope the manufacture will eventually change to a better plug cap. The cord fits and works very well.
